I'd like to find a method for daily or perhaps weekly cleaning of my Progress XL. My forum searches have come up empty, perhaps because I'm not 100% competent with the search mechanism. Can somebody point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Earl

Nineteen views & not even a suggestion?
Well -- specifically -- do I need to take the Progress apart and try to get all the water out with something like a pipe cleaner? Do I need to periodically boil the handle to get soap scum out? Anything???
Thanks...

Hard water in our community leaves a white residue after a couple of days. I clean my Mergress XL every time I change the blade. Often I use an old tooth brush first, and then a smaller brush for the innards. Scrubbing Bubbles is widely used by B&B members and I use it from time to time.
I use Astra SP blades mostly (though I have lots of other brands). I'll get a week from most, though I don't try to push it. So, that means a weekly cleaning. I don't take it down beyond removing the top cap (as is necessary for changing blades).

Thanks, Doug. I'm thinking that maybe water trapped in the handle might cause some corrosion over time. Might have to research this one some more.
