If you check/believe Toolhaus, that is not exactly correct. No at all sure how ebay calculates this! Apparently they ignore neutral feedback and don't count some negatives.

Just curious, what is Toolhaus?
From eBay's site:
"The positive Feedback percentage is calculated based on the total number of positive and negative Feedback ratings for transactions that ended in the last 12 months, excluding repeat Feedback from the same member for purchases done within the same calendar week (eBay time).
Note: This could mean that the number of ratings used for this calculation is different from the same number shown in the Recent Ratings table on the left.
Feedback % = Positives / (Positives + Negatives)"
They only count feedback for the past 12 months when calculating your feedback %. Of those, the only feedback ratings they don't count are those from the same eBay user left during the same week (so, if I buy 4 things from you within a week and give you 4 positive ratings, it will count only as 1). When it comes to calculating your feedback score, positive feedback are +1, neutral feedback is 0, and negative feedback is -1.
So, I'm pretty impressed with a 6800+ rating with 100% positive. This doesn't mean he has never received any negative feedback ratings, but it does mean he has none in the past 12 months.

Never mind, I looked it up. What is Toolhaus? It's sweet! :thumbup1:
Whenever I'm considering an eBay purchase and want to investigate the seller, I like going through their feedback for their negative ratings, looking at the buyer's comments and the seller's responses. For sellers that have a large number of ratings, finding the negative ones can be difficult and time consuming. One of Toolhaus' tools weeds these out for you. Kudos!
That's only one of their tools. There are more for me to learn. Thanks for mentioning them! :001_smile

Don't know if he's still around, but there was a guy selling current williams for ~$5 on eBay. Other guys with VDH brushs for $10-20. I'm sure this type of thing happens with everything. There's a market for taking advantage of price-ignorant people on eBay obviously.

ebay used to be a place that was mostly deals but has turned into people just trying to make a buck off of selling store bought stuff at higher prices. The few searches ive made in the last few months turned up products with similar or higher prices as a B & M store but you have to pay for shipping.

I guess they are profiteering off people who cannot get things locally.
For instance, Pinaud Clubman is, as far as I can tell, completely unavailable in Australia. The bright spark that imports a case of that could probably double his money from Aussies who are just curious about what it smells like.
That mark up on the Florida water is kind of mental, however. :tongue_sm

I found a bottle in a local mexican grocery, plastic bottle, and decided I wanted a glass bottle.
I finally wound up ordering a case of 12 bottles direct from mfr, less than $4/bottle plus around $20 shipping. This was two weeks ago.
That price is unreal!!!:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown

When was that?! I've had an account since 1999, and back then I remember routinely finding new items selling for more on ebay than you could get them for retail if you knew where to look, or how to use Altavista. :P

I often wonder this about many items on Ebay. I'm constantly amazed at the listing of items currently in production that can be bought for a higher price on Ebay. Do some ebay addicts not even attempt to comparison shop before they lunge for the "buy it now" button?

Buyer beware! This is especially true with online purchasing. I have seen used watches on timezone for more than new in box-and they sold. Folks just don't take the few minutes to search bit more.
