I purchased a couple of new cheaper items yesterday. I bought the dreaded Williams Soap, Wilkinson bowl shave cream and Aqua Velva blue. I have been working hard on a off on polishing a badly tarnished gillette 1912 single ring brass and got it looking pretty good.
I thought hey lets try it out.
I started out with the Wilkinson, it had a nice sporty smell and I thought, Hey maybe a good after workout shave cream. I whipped and whipped and whipped it up to a less than average lather. It evaporated at I put it on my face. I then handily equipped the single ring with a gillette 7 oclock and dragged it across my face. Not horrible but I have had better.
The wilkinson had evaporated in the bowl so I broke down and whipped up the foul smelling Williams. Well to my surprise wow did it lather. It went on my face like icing. Very impressed.
I continued to use the ever so deadly single ring for an extremely close shave that only opened up 3 to 4 wounds.
I quickly cauterized my wounds with razorock alum. A splash of witchhazel.
The finally, Aqua velva Ice Blue classic. Which I must say was more than pleasantly surprising. A couple of minutes after completion my face cooled off so much I think a penguin slid across it. WOW.
It was quite the experiment, don't know if it was ^&*(# or brains, but still was lots of fun.
Tell me about your mad genius shaving experiments.:blush::001_cool:
