I had been wearing a full beard for the last 6 months or so,and decided to start shaving again. I bought an EJ89L and a Van DerHagen deluxe shave set with bowl, brush and soap. The EJ came with a pack of derby extra so thats what I started with. Wet shaving has been going pretty well, only having trouble with my neck just to either side of my adams apple. That still gets a few red spots. I need to get used to shaving again and work on the blade angle a bit. I finish off each shave with a splash of Pinaud Clubman (another new purchase) I also picked up some Barbasol Brisk AF at the Dollar general and some Wilkinson black box blades from Walmart. I lurked around this sight for a while before making the switch,to get some ideas.

Welcome aboard! :thumbup1:

I use a EJ89L as well, & I like the Derby blades. I also like the Gillette 7 o'clock blades in this razor, you may want to give them a try.
