After much debate and self restraint I finally gave in. I had read a thread where Jim was not optimistic about the production of further brushes, and I couldnt forgive myself for not picking one up. Hopefully ill have it by the end of the week.
This completes the XL lineup. I have the 1XL, 2XL, and now the 3XL. My favorite is the 2XL hands down. Its really is in the forerunner for favorite badger brush. I highly recommend it.
Ill try to get some pics up when it comes in.

Atta boy!!!
I've had the 3XL and sold it, just a bit big for me. I bought the 1XL and absolutely love it, I will pick a 2XL up off the BST some time in the future. I have to say that for me the heritage two-band, in this knot configuration is amazing. When the brush is wet the tips are almost gel like, they are amazingly soft and just glide across the face. I think Rooney hit a home run with these brushes...

I have the 2XL and I actually thought some how I actually had gel on the tips of the brush the first time I used it.

The only other hair I have found that is close to this is the TGN finest, when wet it has the same "gel" like feeling. Obviously not near as dense as the 1-3XL's but the hair has a similar feeling on the tips...(I have a bunch of the TGN finests too)...

I describe that line of brushes as having your face massaged by a tempur pedic material. Its like the brush just conforms to all angles of the face and gently rubs it. Mind you, I like a scrubby brush, but there is something about this brush that amazes me. Ive tried a great deal of high end brushes, and really think that if one were to have the opportunity to pick one up, they would be wise to do so.
I did find that the 1XL had similar properties, but that 2XL really shined in that area.

Curse you, IsaccRN. I have a 1XL and find it to be a fabulous brush. Little did I know the 2XL was better...and that Jim thinks this may be it. Thanks for the mixed news. :tongue_sm

OK...OK...So here is what just happened. You guys all saw the pressure he put on me to buy the 2XL...RIGHT??? So thinking there would be no way on God's green earth that VB would have one, I went and looked...What a mistake that was...:lol::lol:
As you will now notice they are sold out of the 2XL, five minutes ago there was one left, fate I tell you pure and simple fate, mine is on it's way to me...:thumbup::thumbup:
I blame this all on you!!!

Thanks, h22o999, and congrats on the purchase. Now that VB is sold out I remove my curse on Isaac. :001_smile

The XXL is a fantastic brush, congrats to everyone who got one this go round. I was lucky (or impetuous) enough to pick one up in the first batch.
Ahh... Saved by scarcity. Thanks for picking up the last of the batch. And when VB is out, it is often true that they will be out forever.

It just goes to show you how YMMV brushes are. I SO want one of those 3XLs but I absolutely HATE that "gel" feeling. I want my brushes to feel like brushes, not a solid mass of hair:biggrin1: Oh well, more money to go hunting for Finests on BST, I guess.
I like soft tips as much as the next guy (as long as Vlad isn't the next guy:lol:) but I want that "brush" feeling. Does that make any sense?

3XL owner here....a nice brush that has a manageable loft and a good amount of lather "flow through" (read: not too dense). A very nice brush...right up there with my favorites...

I had to evaluate the gel feel claim tonight, and I was amazing how accurate a description that is. I love this brush.

That was the best way I could describe it, I'm glad to hear my brush wasn't the only one...I really love this XL series from Rooney!!!

Soon to be 3XL owner!
My sister, who lives in the US ordered a 3XL on my behalf from VB (such a shame Jim doesn't ship internationally). Anyway it's off to Brooklyn, then to me in Australia. Pics when it arrives (but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you as post from the US is taking some time to reach me, unlike the UK for example).

I think i somehow caused this bad boy to become sold out. Upon posting this, after I bought mine, there were 5 left. Now, all of a sudden its sold out. I hope all those do enjoy the brush, and im anxiously awaiting mine.

:thumbup: The thing is, I am pretty sure I wouldn't actually like a 3XL. That "gel" description just isn't my thing (but I can't help wanting to try one:001_rolle)

Ken,
Sorry if I scared you off, If I were you I would at least try one for myself. You may think it feels totally different...
