Hello gentlemen,
In my latest batch of shaves I've been getting nicked in places that I've never been nicked in before, specifically my mustache area. These aren't tiny nicks either; they bleed considerably. Any ideas as to why this is occurring? Bad technique? Bad blades? a sudden change in hair grain? Gremlins?
Feedback appreciated.

What setup are you using (razor, blade, soap, etc)?
Has anything changed in your setup? (if yes - then that is your likely culprit)
Possibilities other than a change in setup: technique, a bad blade, damage to your razor (has it been dropped?)

I think btuer60 has it. If you are still using the same blades I guess you could have gotten into a bad patch? Are there others in the house, maybe your razor took a fall?

Excellent comment! If you exhaust these possibilities with no success then you can look for gremlins.

The change I made recently was switching to Astra blades from Asco blades. I was using an Astra Superior Platinum this morning. I haven't been able to find Asco blades. All I have with me here are Astra SP and Astra SS blades. I got a package of them before I came here (in Grenada, not in the US right now). I think the only blade available locally are SuperMax blades.
My razor is a Merkur 34C HD. To my knowledge it has not been dropped.
I think maybe I'm rushing things? Will wait a few days and try again taking things slow and get back to you guys.
Thanks for the help!
