I'm a huge lather catcher fan and I won an Ever-Ready LC on the bay several days ago. Well today it was in the mail and I can't believe how tiny it is. I basically have the same razor already but it has a metal handle with a stropping attachment inserted in the bottom of the handle. This new one has a wooden handle, I've been wanting one with a wooden handle for a while now. The one that I've had was really tiny and some how I thought from the pictures that the one with the wooden handle would be bigger....nope, they're the same and it's a looker. Here are some pics of the new LC alone and in it's new display with it's new brothers and sisters.:thumbup1: I have another Star Kampfe bros. put away in it's tin and I also have a mint 1900 Gem with all original blades in it's case...that's my pride and joy!

You have a nice collection of old lather catchers. It's amazing how small and how light that Ever Ready is. Bu is shaves well enough. Enjoy it.

Thanks! Now the question is, since I already have the same razor with the all metal handle do I use this one and risk the 100 year old wooden handle getting water damaged and rotten or just keep it for eye candy and use the metal handled one? What would all of my fellow B & B members do?:glare:

The only difference between the 2 heads of my Ever-Ready lather catchers is the writing that is engraved on the back.

Very impressive collection!
I have the indentical razor but the Gem version. The minature size does blow you away when you first hold it for sure.
Enjoy!

For those of you unfamiliar with these razors, that's a stropping attachment inserted into the bottom of the metal handled LC.:001_smile

What a great collection of SE's.
The "Lather Catcher" and the 1914 are the last two SE's that are intriguing to me that I haven't tried yet and don't own.

You simply have to try a LC if you like the 1912 then you'll really love a Lather Catcher! The 1914 is fondly nicknamed the Little Lather Catcher and it is sort of a hybrid between a LC and the 1912, I have several of those also.:thumbup1: A lather Catcher gives a phenomenal shave but it may feel funny to hold and use at first because it virtually has almost no weight to it. If you like using a heavy razor and letting the weight of the razor do all the work....well then you'll have alter your technique a bit, but once you get the feel of it you will have a fantastic experience. It's virtually like shaving with nothing.

Look at the Ever-Ready razors in the middle, notice how wide the bottom part of the Lather Catcher scoop is as compared to the Gem LCs on the right of them. I've never paid attention to that before until I was posting these pics.
