I was a gun collector some years ago and thought some of you might enjoy pics of a handful of the guns I owned over the years. There were lots more. Used to collect Colt SAA's and Finnish Mosin Nagant rifles as well as any other cool gun that I couldn't resist.
No longer collecting but it was fun while it lasted.

The 1919A4 wasn't mine but I used to work at an indoor rifle range and was responsible for it. Used to load 30/06 into 50 round belts. It was converted to semi-auto and we used to rent it.

Enjoy...

That is a fine collection, I have never seen a French FN49 before. That 1911 is a very fine piece of history too.

Sorry to say... and maybe I'm totally wrong, but the FN49 made by the "Fabrique Nationale" in Herstal/Belgium isn't French...

The Garand has me itching to hold it and cuddle it and say I love you to it! And maybe bag a deer or two with it while I'm at it. My first deer was taken with a sporterized Garand. The last one I got with a Springfield Armory M1A (clone of the M14 with many surplus GI parts), a very similar gun to the Garand. Those were some fine guns, magnificently effective battle rifles, and some darn fine hunting rifles as well, with a little customization.

Isn't that a CZ 52 rather than 75? Love the FN and the Browning 1919a. SWMBO is very tolerant of my hobbies and collections but I think that wonderful toy would exceed even her benevolence! Congrats on that one especially!

I am currently in the process of building an AR-10 pattern rifle.

As of now I am trying to decide if I want a 800 yard tack driver or a historically accurate Armalite AR-10 with Bakelite furniture, waffle mags, and trigger style charging handle.

As for my personal collection, I'll have to fix my computer in order to get my images. But I have a Sears/Roebuck 12 gauge, Norinco Type 56 carbine, a Taurus Brasil, BAR II Safari, a 10/22, and a .38 special revolver who's make escapes me at this moment.

Here are a couple of beauties that I cherish. First up is a .54cal flintlock rifle made for me by Mike Miller of Paducah, Ky. Based on an early 1700's Virginia Rifle.

Here's another you guys might like.

A Ruger 10/22 stainless with a full length stock. Simmons 3x9 on top.
My wife bought this one for me many moons ago at Wal-Mart. The salesman didn't realize it was a special model and sold it to her for the standard sale price of $120.00. I added the scope later. Nice score.

The stock looks more green in the pic but it's a brown/green laminate.

I used to LOVE shooting that Makarov. Since magazines were so cheap (I think if you bought them in bulk they were $1.50 each), I bought 20 of them and loaded them up at home. Saved a lot of time at the range.

Nice. My camera is down so no pics now.

My interest has run a lot toward the odd, I have several Swiss K-31, as well as a mod 1911 Schmidt Rubin, all straight pull bolt actions, probably some of the most accurate finest built, most accurate military rifles made. I also have a model 1871 Swiss Vetterli in 10.4x54 R(rimfire) converted to centerfire so I can shoot it. A turn bolt repeater they had, first model in 1869 while the good old US still had muzzle loaders.

Shotguns, there is a little 28ga Darne, and a 16 ga Charlin, both French sliding breech side by side double barrel shotguns.

A couple of Win 1985 Reproductions in 405 Win., several Ruger #1's, my old pre 64 Win mod 70 featherweight, a large group of Swedish Mausers, one made by Mauser, in Germany, rather than by the Swedes, a 1900 model with a two digt serial number, last my assortment of Marlin leaver actions from 22Lr 32-20, 35Rem, 38-55, 44 mag, and 45-70, and finally a Browning 1885 BPCR, 45-70 tang target sights heavy barrel and wood to die for.

Here's my grandfather's 1941 Mauser k98 (brought back from the war). Everything is original with exception to the cleaning rod. It is made a bit more rare than the average bring back as this is a Kriegsmarine (German Navy) model.

The aqua fortis on that Virginia rifle is sweet!

I do not have any pics of my older firearms, but I do love my M1. None of the serial # match and it has a laminated stock that looks pretty nice. I need to take the time to make a decent buttpad. The aftermarket pad that fits is straight up plastic. I mean the thing really does not hurt per se shooting, but its... plastic. Maybe a metal buttplate down the road might be nice.

I have a VZ-24 action that will be a .510 cal swamp dominator one of these days. Think 416 Rigby brass blown out straight to hold .510 hunting soft points.

Winchester M1 Carbine, Here's the story on this one. It was a WW2 duffle bag bring back that I bought from a local gun store. It was used by the owner as a hunting rifle and that's why it wears a 5 round clip in the picture. Turns out it was never sent back to the arsenal for an upgrade so it was an all original 4 digit serial number Winchester.
I paid 500 bucks for it about 15 years ago. 5 years later I put it up for auction on Gunbroker and when the bidding war was over, some guy in California won it for $2500.00.
I was a happy camper that day.

If (when) I ever get a 1911 its going to be one of these Rock Island ARmory 45's, set up for Bullseye. The perfect excuse to start reloading.

Go for it, no excuses needed. I reloaded for years when I shot in a league in NJ and FL. The more you shoot the more addictive it becomes. I have been shooting since 1983 and have not lost the excitement.

Here's a few of mine
A Winchester Model 21 Duck, restored by double gunsmith Dennis Potter. It's got the very unusual configuration of a monte carlo stock that has been verified as factory original.

A Winchester Model 12 Trap with a not too shabby aftermarket custom stock

A Krieghoff K20 Sporting Superscroll with a custom made stock. There are more but these are some of my favorites

The M 21 was one of those finds that rarely comes around twice. Potter is a well known gunsmith for double guns and after it was restored it sat in a gun safe for probably 20 years. A friend of mine bought it at a gun show and in a weak moment sold it to me last winter. The price was one of those things you can't turn down. I've got a standing offer to sell it at a profit but its not going anywhere anytime soon.
