View Full Version : March with Mama Bear

It's been a tough time.. but while I was out of materials to make shaving soaps, I indulged a couple other creative tendancies.. I have made some more bar soaps.. and candles.. lots and lots of candles.. lol
I am now working on getting the shave soap inventory back up to par. I have just about everything but am running into printer issues.. of course... but it's all coming around.
I am making the Phoenix Rising from the Ashes Soap tonight and will have labels for it in a couple of days. I will let you know for sure when it is ready for shipping but it should be shortly..
In March.. all candles are 10% off..
Also.. all shave soap samples ship free.. instead of ordering from the website.. send a dollar via paypal to
[email protected] and let me know which shave soap you want a sample for.. and that's it.
Otherwise, I will let you know when the Phoenix soap is available..
I want to say that the support that I have recieved from this forum has been mind boggling.. the past 5 weeks have been kind of fuzzy and emotional. but the one thing that stands out to me is the support that you have all given me. God Bless You All.. it will be paid forward someday.. but meanwhile, you are saving my business. Thank you.
Bear Hugs,
Sue

Sue, when will you be getting the Lime Ice shave soap back in stock? Not the stick, the tubs. It's one I want to try.

Would there be an issue of shipping the colognes over-seas, considering the alcohol content?
I'm really glad things are working out for you Mama, you are one of The Good Ones, deserving good things coming your way :thumbup1:

I am going to need a description for this soap.. will be sending out sample slivers of it with all the orders over the next few weeks. Whoever can come up with the best description of this scent will win a full sized shave soap in a wooden tub, a candle and a matching cologne splash.
Other new shaving soaps added today is our version of Joop and Florida Water...

Glad to see you getting back into the swing of things! The candles look great. I knew I should have added one to my last order. At this rate I'll probably miss the sale, but no biggy. I will also have to grab a sample or two while their hot.
I saw on the sight you mention that you won't be shipping candles during summer. I know it probably heavily depends on weather, but do you have any projection on when you will stop shipping them out?

Thanks Nick! and candle shipping.. er.. I don't know, it's going to be heat related.. they have a low melt point and I would really be worried about them arriving in good shape. The shaving soaps have even melted during deep summers locked in a metal mailbox.. so I know these will being in a tin container and having a lower melting point.

The winner of the contest is Scott0079. His description was just awesome. Here is the final version of the Phoenix Rising description, now up on the website...
The Phoenix is a symbol of rebirth, a new beginning. This mysterious and invigorating soap evokes the sense of anticipation. What the day may bring or what the night has in store. The scent is warm smoldering embers and vanilla type containing notes of chared birch, pine and cedar with a balsamic vanilla, ambery-sandalwood and musk drydown.
I absolutely love it.. Scott has won a shave soap, a candle and a cologne all in Phoenix Rising fragrance.. Congratulations and Thank You All!

Sooo...the last shaving item I ordered before starting my purchase sabbatical was a puck of Mama Bear's vanilla oleoresin soap. I generally like vanilla scents, and I hadn't tried any of her products yet. Well, I got it in and it is pretty much just what I expected. Smells nice, lathers easily, very lubricating. So, what's the problem, you ask? The problem is, she included a sliver-sized sample of Phoenix Rising soap with my order, which I made the mistake of trying this morning. :w00t: Wow! Now I have to resist buying some of that stuff. The best smelling soap I have ever tried. That is not an exaggeration. Hat's off to Sue for a fantastic product, which will absolutely become a staple in my rotation - in a month or so if I can last that long.

Might as well order two to save on the shipping costs.

Oh, trust me. I've learned full well the futility of resistance. In my short time (I lurked for a couple months before joining) I have accumulated no fewer than seven functioning straight razors, including one self-resto, 5 more project razors, three brushes, about 15 soaps, 7 or 8 creams, 4 ASB's, and just about every shaving-related sample pack known to man. :blushing:
It seems that the lovely and talented SWMBO has put her foot down, though, after sifting through the credit card statements with a calculator. Soooo, needless to say, I'm on a mandated purchase moratorium. Although, if I sell some stuff on the BST first, technically I'm not really buying anything....

You must Co-Opt SWMBO by giving her a straight shave on her legs, complete with full brush and warm lather treatment.

Wow! My locals here are the complete opposite. Let me know if there is a loophole I am unaware of. I would probably bring back international if I could ship alcohol.

My postmaster said NO to alcohol, but yes to cologne.. so I am kind of flummoxed myself.. remember, I live in the sticks tho and it deserves some additional looking at for me.
