Got bored so I decided to snap a pic or two of my firearms collection thus far. The 1963 Browning Light Twelve and the Smith & Wesson M&P 9MM are the newest additions.

Nice Browning semi-auto. That's a Belgian FN one right? My brother has one, from right about that year. Great shotgun, just gotta adjust it right to tame the kick it delivers.

Indeed, it is a Belgian made FN and in near mint condition. My best friends family passed it down to me as a birthday gift. It had only been fired about 10-20 times on a pheasant hunting trip and then sat in the gun locker for close to 40 years. No nicks in the wood or anything. Truly amazing piece of work. The recoil spring works perfectly now after a little cleaning/oil and it cycles light and heavy loads without a problem.

Funny, almost the same story with my brother's shotgun. My grandfather bought it for my dad back in the 70s. My dad used it once and grandfather maybe 1-2 times. The recoil spring wasn't set-up right though it appears, so the forearm has a crack in it.

The other gun he bought for practice/small game is a Sako QUAD, with 22LR and 22WMR barrels.

Don't have any of my own, but I do like shooting so I might have to get a permit to get one.

We have 2 air-rifles. A Diana Mod 45? from sometime in the 80s and a spanish made one which I don't remember the brand.

Very cool! If you don't mind me asking, where do you live (you mentioned permits haha)?

Finland. Yeah, the gun laws here are very strict compared to the US. To get a gun you have to have a reason approved by the police, be it hunting or sport. There are some other things that go into it as well, but basically you have to be approved by the police for every gun you want to buy not just a one time thing. The specifics are listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Finland

Ah yes, very similar to most countries with the required license, registration, etc. I wrote one of my research papers on Canadian Firearms Regulation (very similar to the Finnish system) so I understand your predicament. I used to think that our 10-15 min background check was a hassle:lol:

That's it for a background check? We have to wait 10 DAYS out here and cant get nearly the cool stuff the rest of the country can get.

BTW, you got yourself the makings of a new AD.

Ya, I feel extremely bad for all my Cali brethren. That's extremely rough. It's like living in another country over there on the "left" coast:lol: Luckily PA is very lenient in almost all of our firearms laws (mag capacity, "shall issue" CCW's, etc). When I bought my Stag Arms AR I was in and out with a couple hundred rounds and the rifle within 20 mins.

My brother has quite the collection of Browning Auto 5 shotguns.
That's a good gun. You'll enjoy it.
The "double shuffle" is what it's known for.
Nice sight plane, easy to point. :thumbup1:
