My dad found this at a garage sale, i dont know what kind of blades it uses, but the blade just slides off the side, i have it slid off halfway to show. The razor says "old spice" on the side of it.

I figured i would post here since its not a safety razor, I just want to find out what kind of blades it uses so i can try it out.

It has 2 blades.

This razor takes TracII or Merkur cartridges - both of which are readily available.

FWIW, I think the TracII's are pretty decent razors and use one when I don't have time to use a DE or straight.

Didn't the old Trac II blades slide on-off like that?

These handles were once considered the "deluxe" Trac II type handle. I think you can still find them sold retail here and there. They are certainly way heavier than the plastic one that Gillette made.

I stand to be corrected, but Merkur may even make them today. They come up from time to time on the bay.

Obviously our posts crossed in cyberspace!

My local Walgreens sells TracII blades if i remember correctly, i'm going to have to go down and pick up some.

Thanks for the blade ID for the razor

My father had one of those in the late 70's or early 80's. It was metal and gold plated, and very heavy. It took the track 2 blades. I dont know who made the handle, but I remember him getting it as a gift.

My Grandfather had/has one of those, it is in a set with a gold-plated boar brush and a T-holder.
