Somebody got a steal:w00t:

A Jolly Rodgers with box that size fully restored would surely command 400 or even 500 USD!

That is actually not a razor, it is an early English Pancake Spatula with custom horn handle.

Exactly what I was thinking

Heck you can even fry pancakes on that thing :w00t:

A think a whole horse would be the best bet for stropping it..

I think I had a snipe at $160 on that auction. I recently picked up an 10/8 Jackson Stacey & Smith Sheffield Etched blade chopper and didn't need another. I already have a 10/8 Wosty chopper as is.

I actually forgot to bid on it, just to own a razor that big is cool enough for me to spend the money on it  Now shaving with it would be a totally different story

They're actually not that bad to shave with. Stropping is another story....

If the scales are TIGHT and the tang isn't too wide they aren't bad to strop even. Loose scales and wide tang like they are apt to have makes it troublesome.

Looks 9/8" to me, but I'm no expert. Nice razor.

Harvitz, where are pics of your 10/8th hollow Wosty? I've got a 9/8th with a little wear on it, wondering how different they look.

I had Brad do a restore on this one before I learned how to do them on my own.

It was a 10/8 as well. I asked the seller and would have bid more had I not won this one:

I was the underbidder on that auction. I still kick myself for not going a fair bit higher. The seller said the blade was 1 1/8 wide so yeah, it's a 9/8. Next time I'll know better.

I had a $275 snipe on it, so I'm glad you didn't bid. I saw it when first listed at a BIN of $275 and starting bid of $55. I decided to sleep on it and kicked myself when the bidding started in the morning. Never seen this maker or blade etch like that so I put the snipe in at what I should have BIN'd it as.

I'm a sucker for blade etching and obscure sheffield makers. Just need to clean it up here in the future and put it in some new buffalo horn scales. Too bad I have a lot of straights lying around that I can say that about.....
