Not scared of SE anymore.

First shave with my $1.00 GEM Junior. Nice. I was scared to try single edge shaving just like I was scared to use a Feather. I now love the Feather and I'm going to love the SE experience.
I loaded my Jr with a blade I bought this morning at CVS. I found 2 packs of 10 for $5 in a clearance bin. I bought all four. They looked exactly like the ones on the rack for regular price. ???
My shave was smooth, even though the sound was like scraping rust off metal. I was surprised with the sound but it was a good guide for keeping the right angle. The shave was not as close as I'm used to and not aggressive at all to me. No nicks, even on my trouble spots. Right under the nose was a little difficult to get too. I realized you do have to put a little more pressure that the DE. I noticed a little redness, but after a splash of Master's Bay Rum it went away, no burning.
Thumbs up from me, I'll have to try my Clog Pruf next week. I'm going out of town this weekend and I'm taking my new '65 Travel tech.
I used a Krona yesterday and a GEM today. I thing my Gillettes are upset with me.
SE shaving is now going to be in my rotation.

I'm happy to hear SE razors are now part of your rotation. I think shave two with the 1912 will be better than shave one. You'll like the Clog Pruf too. Welcome to the Gemocracy .

Feather Schmeather........... Give me a 1912 and a SE blade of anytype, anyday of the week. Dull? no problem, palm strop.

You can keep your rhodium plated, cased diamond encrusted gillettes.
