View Full Version : Cigars with Coffee - anyone else?

I'm a recent convert to pipes and cigars. I purchased my first decent briar last month and the store owner threw in a couple of ounces of ginger snap pipe tobacco (not so good) and couple of Juicy Lucy cigars by Drew Estates :thumbup1:. The Juicy Lucy is an amazing little flavored cigar that tastes as delicious as it smells. This was not like smoking a swisher sweet, you could tell it was quality tobacco. I poured myself a cup of coffee while smoking the cigar and was amazed at how well they complimented each other.
I know alot of guys like to sip scotch with a cigar but do any of you enjoy coffee with your smokes as much as I do?
I have since tried the "Blondie" cigar from the Acid Line of Drew Estates and was not as impressed. I also have a "Blondie Belicio", "Kuba Kuba" and "Nasty" cigar to try soon. I would welcome any comments regarding the Drew Estates smokes as well.

I love coffee with cigars.
My standard protocol is coffee and a cigar, an espresso can be very complimentary also.

I like a good whisky (and occasionally even a whiskey :001_tongu) if it's an evening smoke, coffee for the day time (and sometimes for the evening as well). It's been awhile since I've had a cigar, but I just got into pipe smoking and I am eagerly awaiting Saturday morning, when I can brew up some coffee, load up the pipe, and enjoy while reading.
I've also been known to enjoy the odd glass of wine with a cigar (not usually much of a wine drinker).

I regularly have coffee with either cigar or pipe.

Always whiskey or brandy for me. There was a nice fellow who owns a great little cigar shop near where I used to live. He wanted to expand his shop into a lounge. He wasn't too keen on liquor for religious reasons (and I'm sure the hassle of a liquor license) but he had a range of coffees to go with the cigars. It never really took for me but it seems like a nice pairing for a lot of folks.

Coffee and espresso are very nice with cigars...used to keep coffee around all the time when I worked at the cigar shop.

Coffee is good and so is Single Malt and good bourbon. A real pleasure treat is a nice glass of Port with a cigar after dinner.

Coffee with a cigar after a meal just doesn't get any better.
Love to sit outside a Starbucks with a cup of "Gold Coast" blend made by their "Clover" coffee press machine.
Serenity now. :001_smile

I also enjoy it when my beverages compliment me. :tongue_sm

Well, what do you expect from a conversation with espresso anyway?
On a more productive note, I find espresso makes a nice pairing with something a little sweet, like a Romeo y Julieta Robusto :thumbup1:
What I wouldn't give for that right now, actually . . . sigh . . .

My morning smokes usually always accompany a coffee. Love the Gold Coast Blend as David in Boston pointed out, that or some Sumatran. Night time smokes are with Jameson, JW, or Makers :thumbup1:

Coffee and cigars just compliment each other.
As for the Gold Coast Blend, one of the Starbucks employee told me it is a strong coffee without the acidity.
My cigar agrees.

I like a nice Cuban---RyJ Short Churchill, Epi #2---or AF Hemingway with coffee in the morning, but anything smoked after dark is going to be stronger than those, and paired with Scotch.

Amen brotha. Works perfectly. Nothing else like a good smoke and a coffee in the morning...

I just came in from the deck where I enjoyed a Cuban Montecristo #4 and a coffee with heavy cream a touch of sugar and 1 shot of Corazon Anejo tequila. I sometimes put Black Seal rum or some Remy Martin VSOP brandy in my Sunday brunch coffee. BTW I roast my own coffee.

I am definitely a Bolivar Belicoso finos with a short shot espresso type, especially after a really good dinner.
Although I have also enjoyed a Monte Cristo No. 4 with a cappuccino in the morning in the summer

Ice cold coffee in the summer with splash of Kahlua and Baileys or nice warm espresso or coffee in the winters. Of course with scotch and bourbon as well on many occasions, it just depends how i feel. Some3 cigars go well with coffee better than others.
