He uses cream, he only has one soap, safari, which I gave him. It has to be badger. He never face lathers uses a bowl. Its for his birthday, price can be a little over 100 no more than 115. The only badger he has is a pure aos travel brush I gave to him. Your suggestions are needed...

I've got a Duke 2 and like it. Probably can't go wrong with a Duke. Also, from what I've read, the Shavemac is a nice brush too. Take a look in the reviews.

I get him either a Duke 3 in Best or a Savile Row in Silvertip from the 3XXX series.

Nay to the wee scott not that its a bad brush, I just know that he does want one small brush, but he wants it to be a travel brush with its own container. Im thinking for that one the new Muhle travel its awesome I want one myself... Just wish they had higher grades of hair for it already.

Also would like knot size of his full size brush to be around 22-24mm

I love my savile row in silvertip.... The Duke 3 is dense right? You know what I just lathered with my savile row and you know what it felt great. So guess dad will get a Savile row 24 mm 3xxx series just like mine.

I like my Vulfix 2234 in best. Its a great brush and will be well under your $100. Of the 5 brushes in my rotation I use it often, and its well worth taking a look at. :thumbup1:

I got my father in-law a 3122 and he loves it. He saw my 3118 over the holidays and fell in love with it. So now I am going to buy one for his birthday as a travel brush.

My son got me a brush for Christmas made by a vendor on here and had the handle engraved DAD. I think he said it ran around 80 dollars or so. I love it.

How about a Semogue badger:

here (http://vintagescent.com/shaving-brushes-c-5/semogue-owners-club-2-band-brush-p-110)

Info from Vintagescent:
This brush is the first Semogue that is stuffed with the very exclusive 2 band Finest badger hair. This rare hair comes from the North of China from the badger species "Meles Meles" also known as European Badger or Eurasian Badger. It provides great backbone and very soft white tips which makes this brush great for either soaps or creams.

This fine brush is totally made by hand from start to finish. The handle is hand turned by a skilled woodsman and later is hand sanded one by one. Then, the knot is made by the master craftsman using the traditional methods passed by past generations to provide the most wonderful brush.

The knot has a 24 mm diameter and 53 mm height. The handle is 57 mm tall and has 37 mm in its widest point. The beautiful wooden handle is made of cherry wood.

I just picked up a Rooney 3/1 and I love it! It's a few bucks less than your $100 starting point, but so far it's a great brush!
