Open Comb March begins TODAY

Ah man! I didn't know I was suppose to wait until March. Oh well, used my Gillette New this morning. Love my OC's!!

I'm very much looking forward to this. It wasn't a shave day, today, but I have settled on about 7 different open combs to take out for a spin. Can't wait!

I figure I'll try to go in historical sequence, so today I used my Old Type. I've only had fair shaves with this the couple times I've tried before, but I want to work on my technique for a few days and see if I can get the excellent results I see with some other razors. One thing I do know is that I so far like the longer combs because there's less likelihood of snagging my flesh as I work the angles!

I don't seem to have a New Improved in my arsenal, so during the month I plan to move onto my New (Roth branded long comb), Goodwill and Senator. Should be an interesting month.

I already started. It was a toss up between the razor pictured or the Gem Damaskeene. Bowing to age, the Damaskeen won out. Another DFS, the 4th on this blade.

Didn't shave yesterday, slept at the GFs and forgot to bring a razor. Today I started the month off right with the #15. Great shave as ever, third shave on the 7 O'Clock black. little scrapey on the ATG pass on the neck, which is also the final pass, so it might be time to switch the blade out. maybe I'll try a spoiler tomorrow.

I've got some other razors coming I feel I should check out which are not OC, and there's the Bull Mastiff, but right now, I'm having a hard time developing much enthusiasm for shaving with anything but the #15.

Bar-handled new, today. Great results. I haven't used it for more than six months. It was wonderful to revisit it. I'll probably spin it again on Friday morning before moving on to something else.

I used my OC Micromatic yesterday without even realizing it was Open Comb March!:001_rolle Think I'll load up the Old Type today and stick with the theme for the entire month. Haven't used the Old Type in a while, and I figure this is as good a reason as any!:thumbup1:
