I have a 22mm boar from TGN that I am going to seat into one of 3 handles.
I have been wanting to try one of Tony's boars and here's my chance.

Opinions please.

I personally like the look of the black and white, though the red and white is in better shape. The orange is a butterscotch with a scratch that is noticeable (darn it).

Scratch or not I like that butterscotch.:thumbup1:

+1 for the butterscotch. It not only looks the best, but has the most character.

Butterscotch. The scratch is just part of the history.

I like the proportions of the red and white set up the best.

The red/white looks like an old EverReady. Nothing wrong with that, but the butterscotch is really tasty, and that might end up your favorite brush. +1 for the butterscotch!

I like the black and white too. I don't think you can go wrong with any.

I think the red and white looks like a more authentic pairing with the white bristle. The butterscotch looks amazing but wants a different knot.

I like the look of the first handle with the boar.
The other two would look better with different knots.
That butterscotch is a beauty btw.

I think the red and white looks like the best brush overall.

Black and white next, but I think it would look better with a different knot.

Most importantly, if you like the black and white do that.

You are the only one that is going to be using it :001_smile

I like number 3.

The BS is the coolest, but No1 looks best with the knot.

That crack in the butterscotch is awful and you should get rid of it immediately. I'll send you my address for proper disposal.

Ok, time to step up Tnuts, but there are some conditions.:001_tongu

1) You pay the postage. (About $2.00 I think)
2) You have to restore it and post your progress.

I have quite a few restored butterscotches and am looking to infect another member with the RBBAD(Restoring Butterscotch Brushes Addiction Disorder) phew.

So, what say you ???

Those are are all great brushes, number one for that knot would be my choice.

I believe what we really need if we are restoring brushes is a sampler pack, say knot sizes of 16mm,18mm, 20mm, 22mm, 24mm, 26mm, 28mm, and 30mm and in white boar, banded boar, pure badger, black badger, best badger, and silver tip, I know I'm missing some, but call it a starter pack. That way we would have a bit better idea what to use in our restorations.:wink2:

Ha! Great idea...

Hold on, hold on, hold on there lads. Unless there was a PCROCOMPBHRD (Pre-existing Condition Regarding Openly Coveting Other Member's Potential Butterscotch Handle Restores Disorder) we can all put our hands up for this. Heck I'll even pay for postage to Australia and I'll send you a full colour framed picture of the final result which will be much better than TnutsShave's attempt (goes without saying of course).

I'd put that knot in the red and white.get a banded boar for the black and white.Finish off the restores with some badger for the butterscotch.

No, you were right the first time. No 1 and 3 have got short loft badger written all over them. They look like they're going to topple over with that knot in them.

Short lofted badger for the 'scotch you say? Sounds like a plan to me...:001_cool:
