Greetings everyone!
My name is Garry and I've had the pleasure of being a member of B&B for almost 2 years now. In this short time I have met some great people and powered through some great acquisition disorders thanks to the help of all you great enablers out there - you know who you are :thumbup1:
Now it's my turn to help you all get your fix of something that I found very helpful during my many AD's - SAMPLES!!!
The purpose of my business is to sell reasonably priced samples of popular shave creams, shave soaps, aftershaves and EdT. Specifically, I hope to offer samples of products that you just can't find samples of too easily (Martin De Candre, Tabula Rasa, Tabac, MWF, DR Harris, etc.) I have no plans at this time of offering full size products for sale. There are already many wonderful vendors that offer full size products and I couldn't possibly do it any better or cheaper than they already do.
The samples offered for sale here will be constantly changing and only offered to B&B members by way of this sales thread using the PM system. Please subscribe to this thread or check it weekly to see what's new.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of the members who appreciated the samples that I have sold on occasion on the b/s/t and who further encouraged me to take this to the next level and become a vendor. I welcome all comments, questions and suggestions.
My first round of samples for sale include Art of Shaving Sandalwood Shave Cream and Acca Kappa 1869 Shave Cream (new formulation in the tub). I also have 5 EdT samples featuring 5 scents that I plan to offer on a regular basis once my decant supplies come in.
All samples are from new/unused tubs, tubes, pucks or bottles and are transferred to new/unused sample jars, containers or atomizers.
To make a purchase please PM me.
Payment will be via paypal - no personal payments.
Art of Shaving Sandalwood Shave Cream:
1/4oz sample $2.00 (1 for sale)
1/2oz sample $3.50 (1 for sale)
Acca Kappa 1869 Shave Cream (new formulation in the tub):
1/2oz sample $2.00 (6 for sale)
EdT samples
8ml Guerlain Vetiver or Encre Noire $7.00 (1 for sale)
3ml Trumpers Sandalwood or L'Occitance Eau De Baux $3.00 (1 for sale)
1.5ml Creed Green Irish Tweed $2.00 (1 for sale)
CONUS shipping is $3.00 including delivery confirmation. Please PM me for international shipping rate. Sorry - no alcohol will be shipped overseas.
I will have more samples to list next week once my decant and plastic jar supplies arrive :thumbup1:
Finally someone decides to offer this service!
Could members request samples in this thread? Or will you just stock what you are able to get your hands on?

Great question gull.
In order to keep this thread as clean and free of chatter as possible I would appreciate any requests to be made to me directly via PM. Obviously, I want to stock what you guys want to sample and greatly appreciate ALL requests.
I should be stocked up with my next round of samples by this time next week and will announce it here in this thread as soon as I'm able.

Garry, congratulations on the new business. If I may make a recommendation, I would offer the expensive creams and soaps at all times. A member by the name of Handy used to do this. Many, including myself, purchased from him.
Wonderful, wonderful idea!

Welcome to the vendors corner Garry! Good luck with the business. I'm sure many members are going to utilise this try before you buy service. Personally I'm kinda salivating at the opportunity to sample the famous (or infamous) MDC.

This is a great service indeed. You will want to make sure to include the list of ingredients as well as the net weight for each of the samples. Since the samples are being sold rather than included with an order for free, the FDA requires proper labeling.
Good luck with your venture! :thumbup1:

Fantastic news! Best of luck Garry
Now we just need someone in the UK to do the same . . .

You most likely also need (depending on the product) name and address of the manufacturer, packer, or distributor.

FDA cosmetic guidelines (http://www.fda.gov/Cosmetics/CosmeticLabelingLabelClaims/CosmeticLabelingManual/ucm126444.htm). Make sure to follow those. Most vendors do not, and because of that, they are risking being shut down by the FDA. Soap does not have to follow FDA guidelines, but since shaving cream and soap are not meant to clean anything, they are classified as cosmetics.
Best of luck Garry :001_smile

Just an update to let you know that I'm still waiting for my soaps, creams and plastic sample jars to arrive. I can't wait to get these samples listed for you and I hope I picked out some stuff that you want to try. I am able to create a new sales thread each month so look for a new post from me sometime this week.
Here is a list of some of the items I am expecting in this week: Penhaligon's shave cream, Czech & Speake shave soaps, Castle Forbes shave cream, a whole bunch of aftershaves and several EdT's :thumbup1:

Depending on how much shaving cream you use, 1/4oz should last 2 to 4 shaves and 1/2oz should last 4 to 8 shaves. I'm not sure how many shaves you would get from 1/4 or 1/2oz of shave soap but it should be even more than the creams.
I will post photos of the sample jars to give everyone a better idea of the actual size.

As a few of you already knew, I had an unexpected business trip to MN this past week and was unfortunately unable to post anything new.
Please check for a new thread from me in the Vendors Corner tomorrow evening (Monday March 7th) for a major update including samples of Penhaligon's, Castle Forbes and Czech & Speake!
