Acca Kappa 1869 in the tub. I used it again, this morning. Again, I was blown away by the lather. It's so different from any other lather I've used. The richness, creaminess, and, for lack of a better term, solidity are so far beyond other lathers', that I want to know what the cause is. Simply put: how do they do it? Is it the ingredients? Is it the method of production? Why aren't most other lathers like this?

AK has been making quality products with quality ingredients for over 140 years (1869). It's hard to beat that level of experience. GREAT Italian cream!!

I am ALWAYS an "it's in the rotation" kinda guy. I have three or four soaps and three or four creams that I use, most NEVER get more than 2 days in a week. Since I got my 1869, it's been three or four days a week. I just look at my other products (which are OUTSTANDING), and choose the AK.

I was a bit 'meh' when I used it for the first time the other day, in fact I haven't shaved today becuase the few weepers still haven't healed fully.

I'll perservere though because the damn stuff wasn't cheap!

AK 1869 cream (tub) is absolutely amazing. I'm not a real cream fan but this is one that just must be in my rotation. I'll not be without Akka Kappa 1869.

I haven't used my tub yet because I'm waiting to finish my current MWF/Provence Sante mix. What's the best procedure for a face latherer to produce great lather from AK?

After the obligatory shower, while brush is soaking in warm to hot water, I load the brush by swirling the tips on the AK 1869 for about 10 - 15 seconds. The cream is less dense than Cella, so it doesn't need as much time as the soap/creams. Then it's applied to a wet face; the cream is spread/brushed to the complete beard.

Once the cream is transferred to the beard I dip the brush tips in water and lather a specific area. I do this five times to each cheek. neck and then chin. Adding water gradually and lathering for approx 1.5 - 2 minutes produces a rich thick lather for the first pass and leaves enough on the brush for at least 2 - 3 more passes.

I think you will find your brush, water quality and amount of water you introduce to the lather may vary so some experimentation is required. However, AK 1869 is such a great product, I have not been able to screw it up yet:001_smile.

Thanks...that's pretty much what I do with all of my soaps/creams.

1. Soak the brush while showering, shake brush a couple times to remove excess water;
2. Load with product, dip the brush tips in water and paint a thin lather/layer on my face;
3. Dip brush in water once more and create lather using a swirling scrubbing motion. Creates great lather every time.
