I read glowing reviews on Nancy Boy, but never see it mentioned here. Does anyone use it? Is it as good as they say?

It's no longer the Flavor of the Month. Castle Forbes came, then Tabac, then Cella, then Personna Medical Prep Blades. Nancy Boy will be the flavor of the month again in 2016.

To answer your question, it is the best cream I have EVER used, and that includes Castle Forbes and Acqua di Parma. The lather is amazing, and the scent of the Signature Cream is the one of the greatest scents in all of shaving. In fact I guarantee it!!! Try a tub, and if you don't like it, I guarantee that you can B/S/T it for almost what you paid. :biggrin1:

It is an awesome creme. Worth its weight in gold . I have so many soaps and cremes in my rotation that it takes awhile before I get to it :tongue_sm

Thanks for the comments. It's made my selection for tomorrow!
NB Signature it will be.

Now...which brush shall I use? Hmmm?

You will love the performance! I wish they offered more fragrances, because it smells like lavender and mint antacids, but if you add a couple drops of grapefruit EO it smells very much nicer.

It's a great shaving cream. I like their bath soap, too. Make sure to join club Nancy Boy (free) for a discount on your order. I think it's 15%.

I actually used it this morning. I had been using some other products recently and it was good to use it because it helped to remember why I loved this product in the first place. While there are always flavors of the month around here and other products to try I'm really happy to keep this one in my arsenal.

I don't care much for the scents, but the creams do give a good shave. I was intending on going by their brick and mortar location in San Francisco when I was there last year but never had the chance.

Hello,
Is there any way to try Nancy Boy without spending $15 on the small Traveller jar plus shipping? Thanks.

All-

The NB shave this morning was great!

The lather was a little harder to coax that I recall. That's when I realized that I needed to check the salt in the softener

Yup. Time to add salt. My water's going hard.

No fault of the NB at all. It's definitely a keeper.

You can try The Shave Den's sample store, but you'd probably be better off just getting a full sized tub and selling it if you don't like it. You will like it though. It is awesome.

I was there twice this month and couldn't get over there. Wanted to save on shipping but I'll just have to order it now.

No. There is no cheaper way, other than finding a jar on the Buy Sell Trade Forum.

EDIT: I forgot about The Shave Den. But I still suggest the big tub, and if you don't like, it will sell very easily on the BST

I picked up half a tub of Nancy Boy Shaving Cream-Signature over 2 months ago, and haven't tried it yet...until this morning! I have to say, that it is one of the best I've tried to date. I like it far better than Cella, but that may be due to the scent of the Cella, not a huge fan of that smell. Don't get me wrong, I love my shaves with Cella but for my money...I'd use the Nancy Boy over Cella. Both provide a great shave, but in the smell department..Nancy Boy wins hands down.

I followed the Nancy boy with some Osage Rub and man oh man.....

Works great with a brush. In fact, I've never tried it brushless. Everything's better with a brush!

Definitely one of my favorite creams. Top performer, so slick. I can see the scent being meh for a small percentage of folks, but I really like it (signature scent).

For today's shave, I used Nancy Boy Signature..second time in two days. I have to say this may be some of the slickest cream I've used, even more slick than Cella IMO. I'm going to shave with my Cella tomorrow to compare the two. I walked out of the bathroom, and to my lovely wife's amazement, proclaimed my love for Nancy Boy. She looked at me, giggled and said "you're stupid, but I love you"

I used it yesterday, and it really is great. Unfortunately I only have a couple of shaves' worth left in the tub.

I used it last night and it is good stuff. I don't think my tub will last a long time though as it takes a bit to work up enough lather for 3 passes.

I have three creams: Castle Forbes Lavender, Nancy Boy Signature, and Nancy Boy Replenishing. CF and NB are very, very different from each other and they both bring me equal but different joy. These are the creams I will reorder time and again. They are my permanent cream rotation.

I find it very protective, lathers up thick and comes off the same way. I really wish I had tried this as my first cream, lol.

Corey Greenberg always mentioned it as a great brushless haul-ass cream on his shaveblog, so I ordered some. It's excellent, and smells like a candy cane. The weak part of it is the name. Not sure I want my friends to know I used a product called Nancy Boy. Pretty effeminate.

So buy a label maker and print out labels that say 'Rocco's Brand' or 'Tough Guy Shave Cream'. Then place them over the Nancy Boy label and you're set. No matter the name it's damn good stuff.

:lol::lol::thumbup:. Too good.

I love NancyBoy creme and its name. It takes a Real Man, secure with himself and his identity to proudly use this  :tongue_sm. Fabulous creme

Exactly...I don't care if the label read "Sissy Boy"...I'd shave with it because it's just so good to my face. I've got enough for 3-4 more shaves, so I'm going to order some soon.

Yes, yes and be careful. If you like the scent the other items they sell are habit forming as well. I buy the bar soap by the box.

NB Signature is my favorite SC. I love everything about it, the scent is great, lather is slick and cushiony. Now that I mostly use soaps, it still has a regular spot in my rotation. Perfect lather EVERY time, never had a bad shave with this stuff.

If you're in the market to buy a new cream, then this decision should be a no brainer. You will regret buying the travel size, trust me... Pick up some Cooling Gel when you're at it. They make a great pair.

I will add one commment about the NB Replenishing SC that most people don't seem to mention: IT CAN SPOIL.

I've have about 10-12 creams in rotation, so I've hardly even put a real measurable dent in any of my creams. I had an open tub of the NB replenishing cream and after about a year from original purchase date (I kept it tightly sealed, in a cool and dry environment) I noticed that the cream has gone sour. Almost all of my other English creams are still fine after being open for 2+ years.

Strangely enough, the signature cream, which was also in my rotation, was actually okay. I suspect it's because of the lack of parabens and because the replenishing cream has the added ingredient of cucumber hydrosol (which usually has an expiration date).

I emailed Eric about it and he acknowledged that their cream are best used within 8-12 months.

Their creams are definitely top-notch products, but be warned that if you have a large rotation, the replenishing cream might spoil on you before you can fully enjoy it.

Since Eric and his business partner are openly gay, I think the brand naming is a bit of a joke on their part. Look closer at the label, "Tested on boyfriends, not animals" :001_rolle

Not if you keep it refrigerated. I've had mine for 16 months and it's still as good as the first day I used it. Just take a few shaves' worth from the big tub, save it into sample jars and keep the big tub in the fridge.
