Ebay has been getting some mixed reviews on B/B lately, and I haven't shared any scores for a while, so I thought I'd share this rather nice cased British Junior Aristocrat I "won" for £21 recently. The nickel plated head makes all the difference to the balance (the razor itself weighs just under 60grammes) I made the fatal mistake of doing my research after I'd bid so I didn't realise it was an aluminium handle. But after shaving with it, I'm really glad I got it. If you're after a close and comfortable shave, and you see one of these for sale, get it.

The extra weight comes from the flat plate on the bottom of the razor head vs the usual concave found on the rocket. The head is very similar if not the same as the aristocrat #66. The Jr's are one of the more aggressive razors I have shaved with and are a bit finicky on blade choice, at least for me. Pretty good score with the case.

You are a lucky man. The aluminum Aristocrat jr. is rare! Has it the flat plate? My aluminum Aristocrat jr (http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece%20solid%20guard%20bar/1952%20Aristocrat%20jr%20paperclip.JPG). weights only 32g and is a Rocket style.

Awesome! I've also gotten some nice ebay scores recently. It takes patience as a lot of stuff goes high, but it's worthwhile, and fun if you can avoid getting too dejected by walking away way more often than you actually "win". How long did it take your Jr to get here from England (assuming you're in the U.S.) I'm getting extremely anxious waiting for my #15 aristocrat to make it's trans-Atlantic voyage home.

If not for eBay I'd have very few razors. And that's a bad thing! You can over pay or you can under pay. It's pretty crazy at times. But I do love the Bay.

+1 It's hard to find anything in antique shops, in good condition, at a decent price. Much less very desirable razors/british ones

No it doesn't have the flat plate and I was pleasently surprised when I weighed this, esp as the mr razor link has it down at 32g. Yes, I am in Uk. I've just spent a few days in York. I went to three multifloored antique centres and even more charity shops and I didn't see one Gillette razor British or otherwise, so believe me razors are hard to find if you don't like ebay, even in the uk.

PS. Are you a Grendel fan ct? Wonder what blade Hunter Rose uses, apart from the one he uses for work......
