Cool video

So, what is the final verdict? Can you get a BBS shave with this blade or is that not possible?

a very informative video, well done:thumbup:

While it is not a razor for my taste, I think that the way you presented it will help others make an informed decision.

it is a beauty. But what is a "feinschmecher"?

Day 2 shave with mine.

This razor is not as intuitive as some I used. First day I was a little timid and my shave was not as close as today’s. I got a bit too bold today and got a couple spots tenderized, but no bloodshed. I think I am slowly zeroing in on the sweet spot.

Cool video. Your talk about getting the best available in your hobby is making me consider upgrading my EJ89 to one of the nicer ones, like the chatworth.......thanx.:biggrin1:

I am glad you like the video gents!

it is a beauty. But what is a "feinschmecher"?

It a person who knows quality, and like quality products - one who doesnt settle for less. :001_cool:

This is what a dictionary told me: gourmet, epicure, connoisseur.

Excellent video Thomas!!

I own a Feather AS, and was rather mystified as to why so many people claim it is a mild shaver, and incapable of providing a close shave. I found the opposite to be true, as it gives me a great top quality shave with no fuss.

Considering what you say about the 45 degree angle vs. the typical 30 degree angle, I wonder if the people who claim it is excessively mild are trying to use it with a 30 degree angle; in which case I would imagine it barely shaves at all. :tongue_sm

After seeing some of your videos I got my first DE (a Feather AS oddly enough) and right out of the box shaved my head and face the first time around! No cuts or nicks or weepers and just a wee bit of burn from too much pressure!

Now it's smooth sailing! :thumbup1:

I don't get it, people seem to be generally positive about it.
Somewhat mixed, being mild and a bit expensive, but generally overall positive.
Maybe i want to buy it one day. But when i go to the review section, by the sentence:

Would you recommend the product?
Most answered with
No
I'm still waiting on my Muhle 89 (God it takes them forever, 2 weeks now!),
however i thought it might be a fine purchase one day.
But those reviews set off every alarm bell on my wallet.
Maybe it is extremely YMMV dependable. Probably will also depend on how mild the 89 turns out to be (closed comb). I'm just getting into DE shaving, so, i still have all the time of the world.
If i would buy it, then absolutely with the holder. If you pay a lot, might as well pay it all.I really like the minimalistic nature of the holder.

El-a-Menthol, the "Would you recommend the product?" was added as a separate field during the B&B site upgrade. It didn't exist before, and when all the prior reviews were migrated to the new system the new field was populated with a default value of "No." It's not a reliable indicator for reviews dated before mid-June or so.

Interesting and good video. It answered a lot of questions.

Thanks Thomas!

BTW, I don't remember what head shaving video it was that I saw of yours (is there more than one?), but it enticed me to shave my head for the first time. I had been considering it for quite some time. The second time I used an OCMM on my head. When I first saw your video I thought you were nuts. No, you weren't. Head shaving is a piece of cake! Even with an aggressive razor.

That explains it all. Guess I will have to ignore it then.
