The large land mass exhibited in the photo above is LONG ISLAND
Montauk point to the east to the East River in the west.
To get here you need to take a bridge or a ferry.
The Island is made up of three distinct NYS counties from the east Suffolk, then Nassau, then Queens. Queens is also a county in NYC (along with Kings, Richmond and Manhattan)
The blue pin is mine.
Next thing you'll be telling me is that Queens is part of NYC.

Very nice pics Jim. I hope my Lilacs flower this week. I've already had to push the lawn mower around once and it looks like I'll be doing it again real, real soon.

Ah, what a day. Looking out the window, I'm greeted by a most pleasant site-
my wife is mowing the lawn.
All's right with the world. :thumbup1:

Hey Jim she is not a professional but she would love to be someday. She loves the pics by the way. They're fantastic, keep up the good work.

Hell, if she keeps doing the lawn, she can drink my wine.

My wife cut the lawn once using the technique I do when I don't ever want to do anything again. She did a tremendously poor job, knowing that by the time I redid it, I would be so pissed she would never have to do it again. (I hope my 12 year old doesn't learn that trick for a few more years).
Now it's earbuds with loud music and 2 hours of exercise for me with no distractions. It could be worse I guess..........

I didn't get it either until we moved back from Arizona (after 9 years) to the Midwest where my wife and I both grew up. Right now in SW Ohio, everything is starting to look magnificent. Fortunately, our middle son is a horticulturist and landscape architect....our yard is absolutely stunning. He also does all the work on it....I think the lithium in the soil hooks him.
Unfortunately, after everything had budded and started to leaf out and/or flower, we had a week of 20 degree weather. Our lilacs survived, but the flowers are stunted and NO lilac smell.

Kings County, which if it weren't tied to NYC, would be the 4th largest city in the Country. Some people like to call it Brooklyn  Kings County is also the island if I remember properly. My fourth grade teacher has some explaining to do about her geography lecture if it isn't. My hometown, Bronx County, is also a part of NYC, but you wouldn't think that the way people flee the mainland after a Yankees game.
BTW, nice pics

Sorry to hear about the Frost- we also received a brutal frost- just enough to cause what is know as super pollination- where everything pollinates at the same time rather than a staggered pollination schedule- everything is pretty at once- from between swollen eyes and the hazmat suit....:whistling: just love those olive trees.....
