Hi Guys, did my 4th shave today, made the switch to the FEARSOME Feathers to check them out. At first glance, they did seem a little longer and wider compared to the Gilette's I used on the 1st - 3rd shave.

Set up is the same over at
http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=189433

Lather(TOBS Lavender)/Shower/Relather/2 WTG passes

Was a little nervous, didn't want to nick myself. 1st Pass didn't go so great, missed a few spots where the whiskers didn't get chopped evenly. No burn and no blood though.

2nd Pass, got it a little cleaner but felt a little burn on a few more bumpy parts of the face.

Had to do a 3rd XTG spot cleaning for the parts I missed. Went to the wife to check the results and she felt it was rougher than the previous one :thumbdown. I attribute it my noob technique at the moment, Really need to work on it more.

On the flipside, it was a shave comparable to my mach 3 shave and no blood loss and minimal stinging with the alum.

I can't speak about Feathers, never used them. But I know that during my first month I would have great shaves one day and the next would be much worse. It took me awhile to get my technique down to get consistantly good shaves.

I still have shaves where I don't get it as close as I would like. If I shave everyday, I tend to be more on the end of DFS. If I skip a day in between, do an every other day thing, I usually get BBS.

Happens to many of us. Often we make subtle changes (e.g., water hotter or colder than usual, perhaps a little more cream this time, etc.) which can change how we shave. But the biggest problem most of us face is the angle and pressure issue. If we are a little rushed or distracted, that's when it often pops us.

Congrats on shaving with a Feather. Your technic will just get better and better with future shaves.

Yeah, there are close shave days and not so close shaves days. That is part of the journey ... working towards the idea shave and getting closer (literally) on some days.

Enjoy!
