........with eBay that is

My wallet is very sad, but what is one to do when 2 razors I've been looking for a long time pop up in the same week. Even a little disappointed I got outsniped on the Le Jaguar Frameback from eBay France, but I made sure the winner paid a good price :tongue_sm My wallet would have been even more sad had I won that one.

Paid basically my maximum amount on my snipes for these 2 sought after razors (Manaslu and Hayashi Diamond). Did manage to pick up this other minty Japanese western for $20 though (Youth) :thumbup1:

Time to go through my razors and possibly thin the herd again or get my restoring stuff setup at my new place to try and salvage some funds.

***Full Disclaimer*** I'm sure I'll still buy what I want when I want :tongue_sm

Yeah I already took the manaslu out of it as I won that yesterday. Hopefully I won't think of any others to add to that sig line that will make my wallet sad

To be honest too, I wouldn't be surprised if that Youth shaved just as well as the Hayashi and Manaslu. That Zebra Japanese Western I picked up from Telly on BST awhile back shaves just as well as my King Pelican, FON Deluxe, and Coral razors.

Wow, nice scores. I saw one or two of them listed recently. Very nice razors.

The seller had another H. Diamond listed, but it had heavy hone ware on the toe end and some pitting that looked like it ran through the blade as well. Not sure what that one went for. I initially had a much lower snipe on that one as well and then decided I would rather just put a higher snipe in on this one that needs maybe a little rogue buffing and honed.

Dude, I'm pretty sure I was the "other" guy for both the manaslu and the hayashi. I wanted them really, really bad, but evidently not as bad as you... nice score! Especially that manaslu.

Well you successfully bid enough that both auctions hit my highest snipe bid within a buck. Keep your eye out as more will come along. The guy selling the Hayashi has been listing A LOT of Japanese westerns lately and might have more (might be worth shooting him an email). I would also look at his other non-known brand razors.

Like I said, I have no doubt that Youth Razor will more than likely shave as well as the other 2 I picked up and it only cost me twenty bucks. No hone ware, original case - I wouldn't be surprised if it was NOS.

Well.......

I need to take a sabbatical from thesuperiorshave as well. Oh my, a La Grosse Blanch, La Grosse Jaune, and what I'm fairly certain is a dark red La Petite Blanch heading my way. La Veinette on the way from Ardennes. I've got it HAD! :blushing:

Yeah, I'm looking forward to them. I think the Youth is going to be the steal of the lot though. $20 and it looks NOS.

Really hope I get my mail situation figured out soon though. I just moved and supposedly had something with tracking information delivered Monday. I haven't received any mail at my new place. I talked to the PO and the carrier has another package for me today and is supposed to call me when he gets to my place to check on the other package. I live in a condo complex with all the mailboxes in one area so hopefully it either got misplaced or is in one of the drop boxes for large items.

I most certainly am well aware of that! On the plus side I have no more inklings for any other finishers anymore (but I guess this tends to happen when you pretty much own them all already )

Moving and PO are almost always a PITA to deal with. Hope you find your package. The PO in our area is generally very very good and so far, no issues (knock on wood). Condo dwelers are generally nice since they all know one another and if they get a package by mistake, they tell you (or hope they do).

Yikes!!!

A Diamond 120 and Manaslu in the same day?? Lady Luck must have been smiling on you!

I'd dearly love to find one of those H. Diamond 120's....

Yeah, the condo area I'm in is probably the nicest one in Santa Fe and I really don't think anyone would take it on purpose. Really hope when I talk to the carrier later today it all gets worked out. Last thing I need is 2 high end Japanese Straights and a bunch of coticules getting lost :mad3:

Technically they were one day apart :tongue_sm

Just talked to my mail carrier and he has been putting my mail in a different mailbox. Seems the condo manager gave me the key to the wrong box. Hopefully it is all sorted out now as they just switched the locks around and my key should work to the right box now.

Tell me about it, I know how that feels and it's not fun. Manaslu and Hansama eaten up by the USPS, probably at the New Jersey distribution center :glare:

Thanks! That is a lovely razor you have there yourself.

With these 3 that will make 8 Japanese Westerns for me. I think I have enough :biggrin1:

Thanks, now I'll be having nightmares about this till they come. Customs is a joke right now anyway. Ordered some Renaissance Wax from a seller in the UK like 2 months ago and it finally came in yesterday.

I think it will clean up quite well. The only thing that might worry me is how thin the actual blade is, so if there is some pitting there you might not be able to remove it all. The frame back and tang though you can easily get all the pitting out.
