View Full Version : ItalianBarber.com February Update...
RazoRock
01-31-2011, 10:05 PM
A little personal announcement...
My wife gave birth to our second baby girl the other day, a 9 pounder. We are over-joyed and under-slept, but it's just as amazing the second time around.
In order to celebrate this birth with Badger and Blade I'm running a special promo for a week...
All orders over $60 from now until 11.59pm on Feb 7, 2011 quality for 1 free RazoRock Shave Cream, you must write "New Baby Promo" in the order notes when you place the order; no asking for substitutes and this offer has no monetary value. If you forget or see this promo after your order is shipped I can not honor it.
Also, the first 5 orders over $100 in February will receive a small random extra gift. Some gifts are quite nice, some suck. Luck of the draw so you have to trust me. If you are one of the lucky 5, you will be told in a confirmation email.
I received some Samples of our new RazoRock 'top secret' brushless shave gel; ok, it's not so 'top secret' anymore:001_huh:. I have a bunch of friends and family that are loyal cartridge razor users and have been bugging me to find "the Ultimate Brushless product". I did my research, contacted the person I feel is the best soap (personal care product) maker in the world and presented my case. Luck was on our side and this individual actually returned my call and was in a good mood:thumbup1: I have 5 unscented samples in 8oz bottles to give away for people that are into brush-less shaving; you have to request it. There are three catches... 1) you have to send me a good review/opinion of it, 2) You must be placing an order over $80 so I can justify eating the extra shipping because it weighs about 300 grams. 3) I can't guarantee I'll have any left by tomorrow:001_smile
This product is made with the finest organic and raw ingredients in the world. It's cold-processed to maintain 90% of the goodness of these ingredients and probably won't be an inexpensive product. One last catch... if this product doesn't make it to market, you can't hound me to get you more because I know you will once you use it.:biggrin1:
Second point of business...
How to lather RazoRock Cream...
I've been getting a few emails on this lately. It's really really simple so here goes...
1) Soak brush in a cup for a minute or while you shower. I soak it while I shower. For awesome results, try an Omega Pro series brush.
2) Take brush out of water, shake it 3-4 times to get rid of excess water.
3) Swirl wet brush on the top of the cream for 30 seconds while you fill your basin (sink) with hot water.
4) Take the brush right to your face and start face-lathering.
5) Dip the tips of your brush into the basin water (if needed) and continue working the lather on your face to create the right lather consistency you desire; I generally dip the tips 2-3 times before my lather is "just right".
6) Enjoy!
Some more business...
For those that missed my update last week, Acqua Classica di Borsari and Acqua di Selva are now in stock (only a few Selvas left).

Congrats Joe!
I have a couple of quick questions. I am wondering if the Feather SS would fit in the iKon Bulldog Razor Base? If the 2 are compatible, could you post a picture (either on your web site or here)? Are you planning on stoking the feather base anytime soon?

hi Laz,
No, it will not fit, different sizes.
I'm not planning on stocking the Feather base. It has to be purchased as a set and for me it's a terrible value. The razor sells for $175-185 while the set with the stand retails for $320. Spending an extra $140 just to get a stand doesn't make a lot of sense and I doubt many people would buy it.
If you email me, I can give you details on where to get a similar stand made for 1/3 the cost of the Feather.

Congrats Joe. The good thing about having a new baby is that he can still confirm a purchase and get it shipped immediately as he's always up. I ordered 2 kilos of cream yesterday and he had it prepped and ready to go within an hour. Thanks again.

Quick Weekly update:
First off, Thanks to everybody for your kind words, phone calls and emails. It's been a rough first week but things are slowly getting better... very very slowly:closedeye Nobody told me that having another child was double the work. I figured it was only 30-40% more work:blink:
Product updates...
I have been getting a lot of requests for Edwin Jagger razors. I finally received them today, as well as a beautiful nickel plated shaving bowl. I can't believe how amazing the finish of these razors is for the price-point, just awesome!

I didn't add any EJ brushes. Mainly because I don't know which ones are good and which aren't (I've never used an EJ brush). If you have any suggestions, please tell me; I need your assistance.
Tomorrow we are getting another Acca Kappa shipment with more of the 200ml Creams and more stock of the White Moss line. I didn't realize how popular the 200ml creams were, you guys tackled my stock as soon as they arrived last time.
Until next week,
cheers,
Joseph

Joe, add the Silver Tip brush from Edwin Jagger. It is available in different sizes and is truly fantastic. I have the Medium Silver Tip and love it completely. Other wet shaver authorities have this brush and agree with me. :wink2:

I don't know if the Best badger brushes are still available, but I would highly recommend getting them in stock if they are. The BBB was my first brush and I use it almost every day. It's truly an outstanding value. You could even include it in a more expensive starter set in the place of the Omega boar brush you offer.

hi Louie,
Still waiting. We are having issues because the cologne and splash are DG cargo and the shipping company now has some really difficult regulations. It might be a long while it seems because progress isn't being made at the moment. Sorry I don't have better news.

FYI Your pissing my wife off , you need to get some good Italian ladies stuff in I can order for her to get her calmed down ASAP
remember , My wife is old school Armenian , right off the proverbial boat less then 2 years now . These Armenian girls are soooooooo much more difficult then your average Italian girl , trust me I know i dated a nice italian girl , to compare the 2 is a no brainer , Armenian women aim for the Head ( mostly the smaller one ) :w00t::lol::tongue_sm:sneaky2::glare::huh::blink:
