What a day! After stumbling through a number of antique places with nothing to show for it, I hit a little jackpot! All together in one booth at an out of the way antique mall, I picked up:

Two excellent Gem micromatic open combs
A superspeed, date to be determined once the cleaning is done
Two fat handle Techs, one gold in a case, the other silver
A beautiful Wade & Butcher Straight, handle embossed with "Joseph Elliot Sheffield" in fine shape
An antique razor hone
Two old style scuttles, one with a clipper ship picture, the other (by Gray's Pottery) with a hand lettered poem about sailors on one side and a picture of a ship on the other.

Alright, that oughta keep me busy for a while. Time for scrubbing bubbles!

Good day, all.

Congrats. Wish I could find something like that down here.

Congratulations! I've been looking and looking and haven't seen anything at all in three dozen flea markets.

Thanks, gentlemen. Here's an update. Scrubbing bubbles and a healthy dose of Barkeeps Friend has revealed a date code of Y 4 on the Superspeed, which according to my chart makes it the tail end of the 40s styles with a manufacture date of fourth quarter 1953. The fat handle techs are in good shape mainly but a little lacquer is gone from the chrome/silver one and the gold one's head is completely brassed. Ah, but now it's lovely polished brass and alright by me. I'm sure they'll both shave just fine. I would post pics but I am on an iPhone and not sure how to navigate all that.
