Knot recommendation

I recently received an old brush from a family member and want to try my hand at re-knotting it. I have cleared out the old knot and glue and want to get recommendations on a size to put in there.

The hole measures 24mm diameter by 12mm deep. I can drill in to make it deeper if need be but i would rather not.

I was thinking about using the 24mm finest extra stuffed from TGN. Is this a good choice size-wise or should I get a 22mm knot?

I think the 24mm will be fine as the knots are usually a little bit smaller.

The hair loft for that knot is 67mm and your handle hole is 12mm. That gives you an approximate loft of 55mm.

Now the question is will the brush be used for mainly creams, mainly soaps, or both?

Do you face lather or bowl lather?

I am mainly a soap user and face lather and prefer a shorter loft around 45mm.

If you use mainly creams and bowl lather than you may want a little longer loft. 45mm - 50mm.
