Hi all, I'm looking to get some ideas for the PTOM threads. February is right around the corner. I thought of doing a poll but I don't want to restrict it to my favorite blenders. Perhaps some of you could reply with a list of your favorites and old standbys and than I could compile those into an inclusive selection for a poll in a couple of days. Thanks for your help gentlemen.

Maybe Irish Flake or University Flake. The Peterson blends are common and pretty nice. I also wouldn't mind seeing Escudo or some of the Dunhills come up in the near future. I also am fond of Rattray's Red Rapparee.

I don't really like choosing a blender as much as choosing one or two blends per month. Pease covers so much ground.

Actually some Peterson blends just temporarily dried up from etailers. Peterson wouldnt be too bad in St Patricks Day though.

I guess that's a good question, blend or Blender?

At some point in time, it might be fun to take a look at some "drug store" stuff. Get back to our roots and that kind of thing.

Sloppy that's a great idea. I've only had Prince Albert and it's been a long time. I always pass it up for more illustrious brands.

We just did Dunhill as the PTOM for December. The only concern I have with a single blend is that it might limit participation, but perhaps certain styles of tobac for some months. For example one month could be flakes, another Va/Pers, another aromatics, Stroppy has suggested drugstore blends... that sort of thing. But I will include single blends in the poll. If members like it, we'll do 'er.

I'll throw in Cornell and Diehl, McClelland, G&H, and Mac Baren.

I would be interested in blends from obscure B&Ms that I wouldn't likely find out about on my own. Preferably ones that can be found online.

Funny you should mention that...for the last couple of months I've been doing this myself out of curiosity. I was thinking about doing a thread on different drugstore blends I've tried just for fun. So far I've managed to acquire the following locally:

Capt. Black-White
Capt. Black-Gold (found the Light available here too, need to get it, but can't find royal around here)
Half & Half
P.A. Original
P.A. Soft Vanilla
P.A. Cherry Vanilla
Carter Hall
Sir Walter Raleigh
Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic
Velvet
Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey
Blender's Gold Burley and Black
Blender's Gold Peach Melba
