I don't have the brush as of yet but am doing the research.

I was thinking of using a similar knot as the old one. It looks like a nylon so I was wondering what would be similar.

1) Boar in white,,,if there is such a thing.
2) Synthetic of some sort. I have no idea how they compare to boars. Do they eventually soften ?
3) Something else in white.

What do you think ?

thanks

The Golden Nib still has some boar knots that are white only (not dyed to look like badger). They are labeled UK/Vulfix boar knots in both 20 and 22. Err on the smaller side (if the opening in the brush is 21 or 22, get the 20mm knot, unless the hold is over 23, I wouldn't get the 22mm knot.

I just put one of these in a vintage never used Old Spice barber style brush. Looks great, haven't used it yet.

+1 on the UK Boar.

I'm not a fan of nylon. I do however think it would look fantastic with a black badger knot in it. It would contrast instead of complement, but I'v always been a sucker for blue/black.

Great idea on the UK boar from TGN.

Not knowing the size that I needed, I ordered both as they seem to be in limited supply. I am sure I can use them elsewhere if necessary.

They sure are purrrdy.

Nice choice on the white boar knot. I have one of those from TGN that I put in an EverReady handle I restored. It is not as dense as a Semogue boar knot but it works well, and is breaking in nicely.
