So i tried third shave with the shark not to bad.Still feel a little burning on neck but not that bad.I like i got no cuts.Tried uberlather today.Used bigelow and van der hagen soap and glycerin.Soap was a little too wet but not that bad.Tomorrow i am going to feather.Maybe i will get better results.Neck is the hardest part.My hair grows different ways.i hope i get faster sometimes it takes me a good 30 miutes to shave. On neck right side of neck goes east to west the other goes west to east middle grows up.Under ears going straight down it grows west to east just maybe half a inch.under chin and everything grows down until get to neck. What ways should i try my neck.Been going bottom to top 2 times then i try to go Xtg but not getting real good on neck.Oh well no blood today.Happy

I would recommend keeping the sharks for now if they feel right. It doesn't sound like you have big issues with them. Finish your pack of Sharks and then switch to another brand.

For me, reducing variables early on helped a lot. I tried to give every new shaving item at least a weeks honest try. Looking back, the by-product of this approach, which had been suggested to me by experienced shavers, was that I unconsciously improved my technique. Good luck!

+1. Technique is an essential element of a good de shave.

i was getting upset the 1st week, my neck and cheeks burned, redness etc. i was getting over confident, going against the grain on my 2nd day, doing 4 passes, etc.

i knew it had to get better, so i relaxed a bit, didn't get agressive with my razor. did some WTG only x2 passes, then quit.

finally got my angle down (or pretty close now) and my shave are enjoyable. no bleeding, no nicks or cuts no irritation. i can easily do 2 WTG passes, then follow it up with 1 or 2 XTG passes. i still haven't gone back to ATG yet, but you know what, i get a closer shave even without that, then i did with my rotary shaver or my fusion5.

stick with it, read and watch some youtube videos, post lots of questions and do some reading on here. it'll come soon.

2 weeks in and it's night and day from when i started.

The neck is difficult to shave. First, it is awkward shaving there. So the tendency is to put too much pressure and to have poor blade angle.

Let the weight of the razor do the work for you. To assure this I use two fingers and my thumb to hold the razor with another finger resting on the tip of the handle. This results in holding the razor very lightly with no pressure on the razor. You want to hold the razor as lightly as you can without it falling from your hand. For blade angle look at this post (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=130110).
