Using my Merkur 38C, the supplied Merkur blade, AOS Lavender Shave cream, AOS Badger brush. Kiehl's after shave balm.

OK, just completed my first DE shave. And survived.

I'd say it's a pretty close shave, about what I usually get from a Fusion. Which is about as good as I could expect. Oh, hell, I'm just happy I'm not bleeding like a stuck pig...

No real cuts, but a few nicks. Very comfortable, but I can tell from my neck and chin that I was applying pressure. Gotta learn to be patient, let the tool do the work.

I need to get that Zen thing and not be in a rush.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the results. This would easily pass muster for work.

Plus, I get to use my new toys!:thumbup1:

Welcome to B&B and congratulations on your first shave!

Tips for improvement? Follow your own advice!
**I would also suggest a blade sampler pack, to further dial things in.

Best,

I've ordered a blade sampler pack, but Amazon hasn't seen fit to deliver it yet. If I like them, Amazon has a box of 100 Derby Extra's for $7.99 as of 1/1/2011.
