I converted to wet shaving after I stumbled upon that wet shaving article on MSN. Then somehow I got here which I don't even remember. I'd like to say thanks for all the great info you gents provided.
My first couple of shaves so far are on par with the Mach 3. I'm sure as I get better at this, the shave will be much better.

Incoming item: Tabac Original Cologne

A Wilkinson shaving brush, I don't know how good it is or isn't. My sister-in law brought it back as a gift from Los Angeles.

WOW! If that is baptism, then I must have merely been christened. You've got some great items there. By the way, welcome to B&B.

Someone needs to change his moniker to "stubborn shopper." The man went balls OUT! I respect that; go hard or go home.

Some of us catch the bug like a minor cold, others like the bubonic plague.

Well, I figured I'll probably own one razor for the rest of my life so might as well buy a decent one. The initial investment is quite hefty(pun intended  ) but it'll be worth it in the long run. Unless ... I'll start to catch one of those shaving mania bug that a lof you on this board seems to have. I hope it's not contagious :w00t:

joel, it's a bottle of Diesel aftershave.

I have to bring you into reality.. unfortunatly you will have so much fun you wont be able to stop, I too thought lets begin easy.. So I just bought 2 tubes of 500 ml Proraso a thin handle 1-9 Adjustable Gillette a cheap badger brush of $10 and 100 Israeli Blades..after my first few shaves I was hooked.. It is like most of the folks do here.. shaving to us is what shoes are to woman you want to try change them the next day so most of the top shavers here atleast the way I figure own more then one razor, one specific soap or aftershave or cologne or lotions ... it;s FREAKY ! but you just gotta love it. ...

my next purchases were D.R Harris almond shave creme and GFT Sandalwood shave creme and 100 Derby Extra blades its a whole different Lingo they use here you have to play code breaker for 2 days then you can follow the club

Gents, I recently acquired this pristine Gillette razor at an antique store.

The razor has never been used. The case is great shape and it also came with an unopened pack of gillette blades.

Great find!:tongue_sm Were you just wandering by? or was this the result of a concerted effort into antiquities?

Actually, it came from an antique store called Sunnyside Farms Antiques in Monongahela PA. They have a store front on www.rubylane.com .

Ron, I did want to add that I make an effort to stay away from ebay. I would rather look for good buys in different places.

Andrew,
I have assiduously avoided ebay for years, but it seems unless you are willing to go to Turkey or have a friend there, it is impossible to get Derby Blades elsewhere.. Oh the huge manatee!

Nothing Earth-shattering, but as I've recently become a big fan of building my lather in a bowl, today I went out and purchased a stainless steel bowl to experiment with. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
