I've been reading and reading looking for which way to get off the Mach3 and goo that never manages to do the job no matter what.
And if I try too hard, the blood starts pouring.

So after looking at all the options, I found what I want for Christmas (my wife wants to know).
I have very sensitive skin and a light beard.
I need to keep it below $100.... so....

Razor - Merkur Classic 1904 Open-Comb Double-Edge (http://www.fendrihan.com/merkur-classic-1904-opencomb-doubleedge-safety-razor-p-109.html)

Brush - Edwin Jagger Best Badger Shaving Brush, Medium Ivory (http://www.fendrihan.com/edwin-jagger-best-badger-shaving-brush-medium-ivory-p-319.html)

Soap - Proraso Aloe and Green-Tea Shaving Soap (http://www.fendrihan.com/proraso-aloe-greentea-shaving-soap-p-366.html)

Blades - Razor Blades Sampler: Lord, Derby and Astra (http://www.fendrihan.com/razor-blades-sampler-lord-derby-astra-p-552.html)

How did I do? It's a little over 100 but WTH!

Glad to have found this forum and look forward to some insight on my choices. I'm ready to order :001_smile

I am always happy to welcome a few Canadian to the site, and Montreal may just be my favourite city in the world. Glad you could join us. Ask lots of questions! Sensitive skin is always a challenge, but there is lots of help here at B&B!

Another Montrealer !! Welcome. I'm an SR shaver so can't help on the choices but it's sure to beat goo grills.

Bonjour Marco. Welcome to B&B. I think your choices are fine. I've also heard many good reviews about the Merkur HD and the Edwin Jagger DE-89. These two are also great razors. Alternatively for the price of one new razor you can consider to get two or three vintage razors that have been restored and sterilized by the good members here on B&B. Just look in the BST.

Wet shaving can be very addictive with all the soaps, creams, safety razors and straight razors that one can try. When I first got into this I said I only wanted one razor. That lasted about 2 weeks and now one year later I have about 40 shavers. The razor you selected is 62 grams. If you have big hand and/or a heavy beard you might find this to be a bit small or light. One of my favourite razors is the Gillette Fatboy. This is a heavier razor and is my go to shaver and also happens to be one of the favourites of many others here on B&B.

Welcome to B&B. Looks like you are off to a good start. As you can see, there are many Canadians on this site as well as citizens from all over the world.

If you haven't already done so, look at the information at this post (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=71700). The information there will direct you to where you can get answers to all of your shaving needs. Plus, it’s always a good idea to read the wikis and stickies. And, don’t forget; if you have any questions just ask.

Hey, welcome from another fellow Montrealer. I've been wetshaving for a few years, but my madness was finally complete when I got a straight this summer, and started geeking samples, products, and surveying the entire town for shaving gear.
