I haven't made any, but like anything else you wonder if it is worth the trouble. I guess it would be something worth trying if I hear that someone else did it and it worked well.

Sure!! Like I'd be able to learn how to make a soap anywhere near as good as the wonderful soap makers we've got right here. I'd be like Granny from the Beverly Hillbilly's, out in back stirring up a kettle of lye soap and forever endearing myself to my neighbors.

Tried to make some shave cream out of spit, but the lather evaporated quickly.
The initial lubrication was good though, and it was really warm

Judging from the recipes on that link it wouldn't save much money, if any at all. As far as customizing something to suit my needs, it's very interesting and might be worth a go.

I've tried to make my own soap. Its not worth the time, the effort, nor the frustration. The essential oils alone will set you back a lot. And, you don't save any money either, at least in my experience. YMMV.
