Well I tried my decant of knize 10 today. (I am in the process of finding a couple new scents this year). I like the scent quite a lot although I think i like a couple others just a bit better. I have to say it's very unique. Well the real reviews came when I went to the shopping center SWMBO's salon is in.

I walk into the grocery store and a very attractive older woman (im 23 she was maybe 35-40) was standing next to me in the produce section and said that I smell great and asked me what scent i was wearing...

Next I go to the coffee shop in the same shopping center.... here the coffee girls and woman owner smell me every day because I have a rather large collection. I was told they never smelled anything like it and its great.

Finally I went to the salon to drop off some stuff for SWMBO as she was at the Dr's and was immediately swarmed by 5 beautiful women (and 2 not so beautiful ones) once the receptionist caught a whiff. With reactions ranging from its nice to oh my god!

So it looks like we may have a winner but first it has to pass final test...The dreaded SWMBO test where 9.8 out of 10 scents fail to impress. (Worst case scenario is I have approximately 25 more samples to go through from creed. penhaligons, montale, hermes, etc etc.

I'd also like to thank you guys for reviewing so many scents as I used some of them to decide which samples to buy. Also if anyone has any reccomandations I did not order any "Fresh, Clean" type scents and would like to try a couple that are maybe unique and not found in every local mall.

*edit* keep in mind the only random woman was the one in the store all the other women know me and my large scent collection and purposely smell me on a regular basis....knize just got a better reaction then almost all other scents i have tried so far (45-50 in the past year or 2)

If it doesn't work on SWMBO, at least you have a list of places to find a shoulder to cry on.

I ordered mine from Luckyscent. (http://luckyscent.com). The website said they were out of stock on the smaller bottles until the end of this month, but I ordered mine late last week and it arrived today.

If you find someplace please let me know. I live just south of the border and wondered if there was a store in Vancouver that might carry it.

Possibly. I've heard a lot of anecdotes from members here and in Basenotes that have found Knize 10 in stores; one guy told me it's long been available in the some of the stores in LA's downtown fashion district. It's generally in sort of odd, off-the-beaten-path stores of the type that usually have no web presence. I wouldn't know where to point you in Seattle. Perhaps if there are some old perfume specialty stores. Or maybe a sort of old school men's clothing store. If you guys know John Helmer's in downtown Portland, OR- that's the kind of place that might carry it. (Not that I know Helmer's has it- just saying that's the kind of store that would carry it.)

But I'm quite sure there is no mainline reatailer (Macys, Nordstroms, etc) in Seattle that would have it. I doubt Knize has any prescene in those type stores in years and years.

Right now, the only place I know of is Lucky Scent (when they get it back in stock) and Colonial Drug in Boston. I have also heard of people buying it from European websites, but it involves some hefty shipping charges. I believe the reason it sold out so fast at Lucky Scent was frankly pent up wet shavers. The owner was stunned at how much action it generated.
It's a famous scent amongst many of these grooming forums, and Lucky has a very high profile in cologne circles.

Cool Josh...I'd liked that store and that area. I stayed in hotel across street when I was there last. I doubt they have it, but that is an example of a kind of store that might. I thought the two questioners from Washington might relate to that store.

Yeah, I have a thing for hats, and they've a pretty nice selection of the ready mades. It's got an old school "haberdasher" feel for sure.

My brother lives there and I've been a few times. You're a bit "cologne happy" for that town...

Me personally?

We've got more hipsters than hippies up here and i certainly don't fall under the latter category.

Let me know when you're in town next and I'll buy you a drink and give you some samples.

Just generalizing that much of Portland that I've seen seems a bit down to earth. I'm sure that area you live in is quite hip. I liked your downtown.

I will def let you know.

Portland is a great town! Interesting how much "hipstserism" has seemed to become so pervasive across the country!

My guess is the only thing touching Stylin's lips is a Macallan 25 or 30. Bring your wallet

I'm in Austin which is considered a hippy town, but I live out in the burbs, so not much hippiness going on out here. I've always wanted to check out Portland. Seems a lot like Austin with cooler weather, more trees (I can't get enough trees), more rain, an hour to the mountains and an hour to the beach.

Seems pretty hard to beat!

On the Portland note, I have heard good things about The Perfume House. Not sure if they have the K10, but it seems they have a pretty solid selection of offerings. When I visit, I am definitely hitting these places up.

Big difference between, "hipsters" and "hippies." I would think not too, too many actual, traditional hippies around these days. I think hippie was always a kind of perjorative term anyway. Back in the day, people would have called themselves "freaks," i think, but that was a long time ago. Again, hipster is a different species, and hipster is probably a derogatory term, too.

Austin is a great town, too.

When i moved to Portland, it was a toss up between Austin & Boston, for the "hipness", young people, and music in each of the 3 towns.

Portland is completely the bees knize.

The perfume house does carry Knize 10, along with some other bath products, including the shave soap.

LOL...a bourbon most likely. The Macallan is great scotch though. I do someday want to try the 30 year.

Hey Washington state guys- sounds like The Perfume House in Portland may carry the Knize 10.

Sounds like I'd have to set up direct deposit to the perfume house instead of my bank account if I ever moved to Portland. The place sounds amazing.
