I have a Sony DSC-S85 4.1 megapixel camera that does get a lot of work but I'm selling it on eBay. The macro mode isn't good enough. I need to find a replacement. For $300 and less, can you photo pros direct me on a good purchase? It must have, in order of need:
manual focus
good macro mode
burst mode or equivalent
movie option
I won't be sending any pictures to Sports Illustrated so I don't need anything fancy. But I want something I won't regret buying after a week. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Well, I found my camera before anyone could give any suggestions. The Sony DSC-V1 is a better DSC-S85 with the features I want. Since it's an older model, I can get it for cheap off eBay. Thanks anyway!

Hi Telly,
I was going to say, "Whatever you do don't buy a Sony DSC-V1!" Just teasing of course. Good luck with your new purchase. I have been agonizing over a Nikon D-80.. I was going to buy a D50, then it went away. I thought, perhaps a D70s! But it went away. I don't like the D200, too heavy.. (weight and cost). I would have bought a D40, but no depth of field preview.. Arghhh!:crying:

If you decide to pull the trigger on a Nikon, buy it from
http://www.buydig.com/
I bought my D70S from them. They usually have the best prices for legit USA Warranty gear. I read plenty of reviews about them at dpreview.com.

I haven't bought the camera yet. I'm waiting for the right deal to come along.
