Muhle R89 - Loosening the handle

I was wondering if anyone has tried shaving with the Muhle R89 after slightly loosening the handle?
It suggests doing this in the little leaflet that comes with the razor.

Does it give a more aggressive shave?

Yes, I cut myself badly and decided not to do it again.

The emphasis is on * slightly * here ... I tried it loose and it ended up in a bloody mess.
