Do you enjoy shaving or just shave because you need to ?
I, myself love to shave daily, not because I have to but because I look forward to and enjoy it very much !! How do you like shaving ? :thumbup1:

The joy ran out for me 3 years ago. Nevertheless, I enjoy the shave cream scents. I may grow a beard though.

I enjoy shaving now. I used to hate it when I was using canned goo or even regular bath soap and a plastic razor. Now that I am using good soaps and creams and using my Lady Gillettes, I look forward to the experience and like to shave. It is the whole experience now. I like to hear the razor cutting the hair. I love the smell of the soap/cream. I love building a lather (that is one of my favorite parts). It brings joy for me.

I'm guessing the long-time, regular members here ENJOY shaving-it's a hobby to most of us at this point. There are probably some guys that are just looking to improve their shaves that show up here, learn what they need to and then leave completely or don't visit very often. For them, it's something they have to do, that they wanted to improve upon.

I don't love it, but I don't hate it.

I'm a lover of shaving. It was a hated chore until earlier this year when I started wet shaving, but now it is a beloved ritual!

Damn Skippy, wet shaving is what brought me around. I used to hate shaving so much that until recently, I hadn't seen my face for 30 years. Been shaving my head with a HeadBlade for quite a while then started buying DE's and started shaving my face. Then started buying Straights and well, the rest is an on going history ! My beard hair grows very fast and I love to hear the chop, pop of a finely sharpened Straight sliding down the side of my face and under my chin !! wow that was good, Happy shaving !

Count me as one who really enjoys the time I spend wet shaving. Being an older newbie here it takes me back to when I was a small child watching my grandfather make his lather in an Old Spice mug, apply it and slowly shave his face as smooth as a baby's posterior. To this day the smell of Old Spice reminds me of my grandfather. Add to that the enjoyment of using a 60+ year old restored, shined and sanitized Gillette that someone else had used, taken care of and hopefully enjoyed using is superb in my book. The scents, the sounds and the feelings are things I truly enjoy. Especially when it results in a really smooth shave.
The hobby, collecting, restoring and learning aspects make it even more enjoyable to me and I suspect many of my brothers and sisters here.

Well....I don't' really enjoy it so much, but I don't really dislike it either. It is just something that I do. Neither bad, nor Good. Although, I do say that I like shaving with a DE over Cartridge/canned setup.

Shaving used to be a chore like taking out the rubbish (trash) but since seeing the light and switching to DE shaving I really enjoy it. It's taken me 26 years to get the quality of shave I am 100% happy with. I look forward to trying out new razors, blades, creams and soaps and get enormous pleasure knowing I'm free from Gillettes master plan for global shaving domination.

I love shaving. It's relaxing. I find that if you MUST do something all the time, then it should at least be fun and enjoyable.
To this end, I engaged in the relaxing masculine ritual of wetshaving with a straight-razor.

I used to love it, but its been almost 18 months since I switched to de's and the appeal has waned.
Now it is just another part of my morning, but I do enjoy trying out different products.
My ultimate goal is to move towards a single razor/brush combo and cull my herd so that I have my 'best' kit to use until I die. Right now its the Merkur hd and hopefully the semogogue select silvertip when it arrives.

I no longer hate it (which is a major change), and most days find it an enjoyable moment of zen, but it's not the ecstacy it is for some of the lucky fellows here.
I, too, am looking to settle on a couple razors, one aggressive for workdays, one milder for weekends, and one blade.
I'll probably always mess with different creams and soaps because I like some change.

I love it now. Back when I was using cartridges and cans of goo however it was just something that I had to do in the morning.

I can't say I love shaving - but I do enjoy it. I like to try different things and so I do enjoy trying out all of the hardware and software. I also enjoy the time I spend alone shaving. It relaxes me and makes me feel good. :001_smile

Enjoy. Even when I don't have a nice 30 minutes to have a relaxing shave, I still enjoy it. There is something satisfying about a good shave with a DE.

Uh, oh. You are experiencing the the tell tale signs of moving into the realm of straight razors. Don't fight it, walk towards the light.

It's a nice warm pretty light too. :001_smile
It has become more interesting for sure after discovering this forum. I've become a fan of DE's , Straights and some great creams and aftershaves.

Enjoy. Trying new scents / product is always entertaining. Those rare occasions when time is short I sometimes wish there was a faster way. Overall it's a pleasure I'll never do without.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit and look forward to the experience each morning. It really helps start my day out with a positive outlook and a face that feels great, looks great, and smells great! That's a big change from what I was doing prior to this summer when I switched from electrics and carts, and couldn't figure out why I never had a good shave and my face was always irritated. :thumbdown
