I really want to pick up a Stetson Mercer (http://www.merchdirect.com/Stetson/Hats/MercerClassic_Fedora?productid=12776) for the winter. I was wondering if anyone knows first hand whether or not the brim can be flipped down in the front like on the larger brimmed fedoras? Does anyone have any other smaller brimed hat recomendations?
Thanks

You might look at the Stetson Presto:

thanks for that link, looking at it I think the Dolton (http://www.millerhats.com/stdress_index/stetsonfedorahats3.html) is more what I am looking for, the snap short brim...

Yep. Before you buy it, though, pay a visit to the shop and try it. I'm a HUGE fan of hats and own some four or five different ones (I mainly use one of them, though, very similar to the Mercer, but in black).
The thingy with hats is you never know if they fit your face or not until you try it. I remember I was crazy about a black pork pie until I tried it and saw, reflected by the mirror, the dumbest masculine face ever. :mad3:

cool, thanks. I definatly buy it at the shop, both for fit and to get the look. Plus if I walk in with a couple large cash bills, he takes a few bucks off and saves me the sales tax...
