Everything is SOLD. Thanks B&B!

In an effort to clear my den of items that are not getting the attention they deserve, up for sale go a couple brushes that, in my opinion, are some of the best you can find. I am also looking to sell a couple ouds I bought from a member of Basenotes. For all items payment is via Paypal.

First up is a Rooney Beehive in the Heritage line of 2-band Super Badger. I bought this brush on the BST from Ameet (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=130756) earlier this year, and it has been one of my favorite brushes. It has a wonderfully dense knot, and eats soaps for breakfast.

Specifications taken from the Vintage Blades website are as follows:

Overall brush height: 92mm
Handle height: 46mm
Brush Loft: 46mm
Knot diameter: 21mm

You can buy the brush new for $175. I paid $150 and am asking $112.50 [edit: was $125] shipped CONUS, international at cost.

Next up is a custom Shavemac D01 brush with 2-band Super Badger in an "extreme flat top" fan knot. (You may have read about Ambrose's incredible creation in the Brush Forum. (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=146419)) This is a brand new brush that arrived from Germany only last week, and has never been used. The only reason I am selling it is because it is a duplicate. :blushing: I like this brush so much I emptied my Paypal account to get a second one, but sadly I am not ambidextrous! Given my Shavemac will last me 10 or 20 years I decided I can let this backup go.

In my opinion the hair in this brush falls somewhere between the Rooney Heritage 2-band Super Badger and Finest hair, and with the dense D01 knot it is unlike any I have used before. Incredibly soft, tons of backbone, and lathers like mad. I prefer a fan shaped knot, and this brush takes it to the extreme...and I love it. And for those of you that might be wondering if the hairs were trimmed to make the flat top design the answer is no. Bernd never cuts the hair, but labored over this wonderful knot to make it just so.

Specifications of both of my brushes - the Shavemac I am keeping is pictured below - are as follows:

Series 173 handle height: 49mm
Knot width: 23mm
Knot height: 45mm
Hair: D01, 2-band Super Badger

As you can see in the photos below, the brush and shipping were 142 Euros, which is over $200. You can own this brush today - or very shortly - for only $170 shipped CONUS, international at cost. You can also save yourself the wait time of having the brush made or held up by The Department of Fish and Wildlife. :001_smile

The last two items are Cambodi ouds from Abdul Samad Al Qurashi that I bought off eBay from Basenote member dredmahawkus. These are not oud based perfumes, but actual oud oils, and simply taking the lid off SWMBO felt they were way too strong for her taste. (She thinks Montale's Black Aoud is too much as well.) As I like spending time with her I have decided to put them on the block and hope someone else can benefit from my blind buy. Neither one has been used. I am not an oud expert so maybe other members can offer their opinions on these. However, my sense is both of them have a sweet aroma, typical of Cambodi ouds, not the strong scent such as that found in Indian ouds.

The first one pictured is 1/4 tola (or 3mls) of Abdul Samad Al Qurashi Dhen Al Oud Cambodi Matak (aged). I paid $90, and am asking $58 [edit: was $65]shipped CONUS. A full tola of this oud can be purchased off the Zahras website for $299 (http://zahras.com/Perfume/Catalog/ASAQ/default.htm) plus shipping, so this is priced below cost of a split.

The second oud pictured with the paper label is 1/4 tola (or 3mls) of 16 Year Old Dhen Al Oud Cambodi Matak Mubakhar Qadeem. I paid $150 and am asking $98 [edit: was $110] shipped CONUS. A full tola of this oud can be purchased off the Zahras website for $555 plus shipping, so this one is also priced below cost of a split.

While the eBay listings are gone, if you have interest in the ouds I am happy to send you my eBay name so you can check the seller's feedback, see my comments, and verify the prices I paid.

Alright, let's bump this thread right back to the same place it is on the BST. :001_smile

No love for the Beehive? Okay, I hear you...you can buy this same brush for $175, so why buy this gently used one for - 10% price drop - $112.50? You are right, it is only a savings of $62.50. Heck for that price you might be able to buy a Rudy (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2427504&postcount=1) Vey (http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2338251&postcount=54) custom (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2286432&postcount=1) beehive (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2331595&postcount=6) brush (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2509636&postcount=78). Well, you got me there. I say support that fine craftsman as he deserves your business. (Have you seen those brushes?!) However, if you want an original Rooney handmade brush with a lathe turned, hand polished handle in imitation bone that is filled with the new 2-band grade of 100% "Super" Silvertip Badger that is unique to the Heritage range of brushes for a fraction of the price PLUS your choice of a puck of Ralph Lauren Safari or Mitchell's Wool Fat shave soap so you can practice your lathering skills...you know how to reach me. :001_rolle

The ouds have also been discounted 10+% if anyone has interest. The Abdul Samad Al Qurashi Dhen Al Oud Cambodi Matak is now $58. The 16 Year Old Dhen Al Oud Cambodi Matak Mubakhar Qadeem is now $98.

EDIT: I just pulled out my sample collection and found 10 oils that I will include with purchase of the remaining ASAQ oud. All are unused. 7 of the 10 samples were purchased from AgarAura.com (http://www.agaraura.com/) and are ouds that have a value over $80. (The Borneo alone costs $27.) There are also 3 oil samples from AgarScentsBazaar.com (http://www.agarscentsbazaar.com/servlet/StoreFront) The samples are AgarAura's Taqi, Koh Kong, Spice, Thai, Indian, Areej, and Borneo Jewel, and AgarScentsBazaar's Kashmir Musk, Ambergis White and Champa Parfum.
