Howdy :001_smile

I picked up my first alcohol based splash the other day having only used non alcohol balms previously. Admittedly I only got it because I wanted to experiment and the stuff was $5 for 5oz.

Barring the fragrance which is not the nicest (thankfully it is short lived) it actually worked much better than I expected. I thought it would be quite drying but it semed to tone really well and got me thinking that maybe my Nivea ASB leaves me feeling a little greasy by comparison. I'm certainly interested in trying some other alcohol based splashes on the back of this trial at any rate.

Are there any ingredients to avoid? Ingredients that are a must for a non-drying experience? The one I picked up stated that it had real Sandalwood oil (Possibly the frangrance I don't like??), Aloe and vitamin E in the make up. After applying it and getting an awesome cool blast I checked the ingredients and it also featured menthol.

Cheers,
SYD

Try Aqua Velva, Musgo Real, Masters Bay Rum, English Leather. Glycerine (or Propylene Glycol, to a lesser extent) are key ingredients for a less drying experience. Other components in that vein would be Aloe and Shea butter.

I'm sure you'll get lots of good advice coming right up.

Cheers Man00ver. I will check for Glycerine/Propylene Glycol also. Thanks for the recommendations, I will check to see if anything is available locally.

You'll probably get a lot of opinions on this. There is information on the Wiki above regarding aftershaves and also make sure to read through the AS reviews also above. Way up there
