View Full Version : Queen Charlotte Soaps - Veteran's Day Sale, NEW products, November updates

We are happy to announce several new products and updates to Queen Charlotte Soaps.

Many customers have asked us to increase the amount of cedarwood in our Cedarwood-Lemongrass shaving cream soap. Because of this, our Cedarwood-Lemongrass now has more cedarwood, but still enough lemongrass to give you that citrusy kick.

We also have two new shaving cream soaps available: Vostok and Unscented. Vostok is a peppermint, eucalyptus, and menthol shaving cream soap. We believe it is the coldest shaving product out there. The unscented version does not contain essential or fragrance oils. It is also vegan, meaning it does not contain ingredients derived from animals.

We have refined our method of making shaving cream soap, which yields a superior product. Our shaving cream soap is now more dense, contains aloe vera extract, and each tub is filled with five ounces of shaving cream soap. Because of this and increased costs of production, we have to raise our prices. They are, however, still very competitive.

We will be holding a Veteran's Day sale from Thursday, November 11 through Sunday, November 14. The sale is CONUS-only, unless you are an active serviceman or woman with an APO or FPO address. Here are the details of the sale:

All orders will receive 10% off. Just use the code “veteransday2010” (without the quotations).
All veterans and active servicemen and women will receive 20% off. Just use the code “thankyou2010” (without the quotations). This will be done on the honor system.
All orders of $30 or more (excluding shipping) will receive two free shaving cream soap samples (you choose the scents). Please include your scent choices in the order comments.
All orders of $50 or more (excluding shipping) will receive free shipping. Shipping will be refunded after your order is shipped.

We will combine all of the above offers. If you have not tried our products or would like to try something new from us, this would be an excellent time to do so.

As always, you can also fan us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/queencharlottesoaps), follow us on Twitter (http://twitter.com/QCSLLC), or subscribe to our blog (http://queencharlottesoaps.blogspot.com) via RSS (http://feeds.feedburner.com/QueenCharlotteSoaps) or e-mail (http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=QueenCharlotteSoaps&loc=en_US). We also have a monthly newsletter, which can be signed up for in your accounts options page on our website.

Thank you for taking a look,

Matthew

I had not planned buying any more soap or creams for some time but the Vostok has me intrigued. Will have to order some in a few weeks (and maybe some Key Lime too).

Well, Matt, you've done it... pushed me over the edge for a sample pack. Now just to wait until Thursday. :mad2:

Nice gesture for our service men & women too.

edit: btw... is the soap/cream more like a soft soap (like Valobra) or more like a dry cream?

By a dry cream, do you mean something like TOBS, GFT, etc.? If so, no- mine is a lot thicker. I have never used any soft soap, so I really cannot compare, other than saying that I believe it is somewhere between SMN and CF, perhaps a tad more towards the CF side. I hate not being able to fully answer your question, but I believe you may be better off PMing any of my customers who have posted in my previous threads (thread one (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=162598), thread two (http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=167570)).

Thanks, Matt for the speedy answer. I was really basically just curious as a hard soap user what to expect. Not a deal breaker either way. I'll be placing an order on Thurs.

Basically nothing different, just less loading time and a slightly thicker lather.

Rich gem: This soap is easy to use and provides for a great shave. I used the Key Lime today and loaded the brush like a soap and face lathered. You could call it a soft soap/dense cream. However, shaves with the slickness of a soap for me. I plan on buying more. Good stuff.:thumbup1:Hope this helps. Bradley

Yes, thanks. I guess my main interest was whether I would be lathering on top of the product or having to scoop some out. Either way works for me... I usually load my brush on top of the hard soap and then face lather.

I've done both ways, but always scoop out too much as this is very concentrated product. A little goes a long way in my experience.

 If I had a dollar ..... well, at least I'm not the only one so afflicted.

I know. I have about 8 creams and about the same amount of soaps (which I am nowhere near finishing). In my defence I had about that much when Matt started selling his soaps. I'm really like citrus so it has been quite difficult not to buy the key lime.

But my birthday is coming up in a few weeks so I will have to treat myself (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

Put my order in for the Vostok and the Key Lime today. Can't wait to find out how cold the Vostok is, and I like mint and menthol so I'm almost guaranteed to love it.

I really wanted some key lime cream, but is there really only one shipping option?

It seems unreasonable for me to pay 12 dollars for a product and then 8 dollars for shipping. Especially since I don't live in Timbuktu.

Did I miss the option for other options? I don't care if it takes two weeks.

Let me know how you like it. I am a big menthol head, which kind of explains this creation

Throw a little bit of citrus in there (ala guerlain vetiver) and you will have a customer for life (me :w00t:)

I love Guerlain Vetiver, L'Occitane Vetiver and Lalique Encre Noir EdT's but I tried the Cyril Salter Vetiver shaving cream just recently and almost gagged. I just could not hang with it at all

Two words Matthew: Tallow and Lanolin

Vetiver sounds like an interesting scent and can't wait. Will be ordering some of that Vostok next week though.

Quickly looks at essential oil site: What about Patchouli? Grapefruit? Tea Tree?

Keep up the good work (crosses fingers on a successful tallow and lanolin formula).

Actually now that I think about it - 3 words: Tallow, lanolin and shea butter

Joe, I wanted to do a little more research before getting back to you. Adding lanolin to my shaving cream soap is on the list, but the amount will not be very large. Long story short, it is more difficult adding lanolin to a cream than it is to a hard soap.

Well, my wallet is a little lighter, but I placed my first order with QCS today. Snagged the Briar and Celestial Woods, plus the 2 special bath soaps that Matthew mentioned above. I have been trying my best to spread my purchases out amongst the many fine vendors that help support B&B & QCS's sale was too good to pass up! :thumbup1:

Thanks again for the extra 10% off for Veterans, Matthew, it truly is appreciated & I am looking forward to trying my new Queen Charlotte Soaps when they arrive!! :tongue_sm

Cedarwood-lemongrass, key lime, lavender, and Vostok contain only EOs. Unscented contains neither EOs or FOs. I hope that helps.

Just as a note: this sale is continuing through Sunday, so if you missed it yesterday, it is not too late!

My Vostok and Key Lime arrived this morning. Key Lime smells good enough to eat and the vostok smells oh so minty.

I will be shaving with the vostok in a bit so I'll get to see just how cold it is.

edit: Vostok is awesome. Very cold and lots of peppermint.

The sandalwood is a bit controversial, since it's a bit of a sweeter sandalwood than most are used to. It's not quite so exotic, but it's quite nice...after some getting used to, it's become one of my favorite creams. I'd highly recommend it.

Cross posted from my post in Matthew's "new products" thread:

My Vets Day order just arrived today.... everything came very well packaged (little plastic tubs, safety sealed with electrical tape) and everything smells wonderful.

For those wondering about the consistency, I'd compare it as similar to Valobra... not as firm or as dry as Val., but still "putty-like" (at least after being out in my cold mailbox) rather than creamy/liquidy.
