Hey guys, was in a smelly old antique store in a basement today. So I ask the guy, Joe, "Do you have any razors or shaving mugs?" Joe says Yep, I got a few in this box. So there she is, a super speed, but it is all gunked up so can't see the date code. Operates ok even in the store though. So I head home, apply some scrubbing bubbles with a toothbrush and sure enough....there is no date code. So, for $2.00 I now have a perfect 48-50 super speed. Much more rewarding than buying off of EBAY! :thumbup1:
I also found a really cool 3 piece that I have no idea what it is. It has a serial number but does not seem to be Gillete number. Brass with open comb and the handle is very decorative, kind of like fleur de lis design all over it.
Welcome and congratulations!
Lets see some photos of them!

I agree! There's nothing like the thrill of the hunt when it comes to acquiring razors. Please post pictures.

This could be one of Gillette's razors - they did make some like this, just can't remember model name. I'll look around later to see if I can find a link. Show us the pics!
Good find.

You lucky guys in the states! You just enter an antique shop and you can find all kind of razors!!!
I think in Europe It's much more difficult but I found 2 old razors 2 weeks ago in my home town's flea market : a Gillette DE code T2 (1973) with a long slim black handle (not in a very good shape) and a kind of no name short slim SS (I was lucky with this one because It's in a very good shape)
I think I'm going to start searching in different flea markets around Belgium.

Gotta take some pics and load em up. Will Do.
By the way, shaved with the superspeed this am, I thought I knew what BBS was before with my Merkur HD, well this was even better. Just a tad amout of azor burn on the upper lip but that was my fault. I will get the pics up.

Design on handle is a little different but end of handle, comb and very similar serial number stamp. That is it..so I guess it is a very early Gillette? I will clean up and post the photos

Now that I cleaned it and polished it up the serial number above makes it a 1910. Polished up fantastic...I will post photos. Have to travel for work tomorrow but you guys will be impressed by this thing. Anticipation builds!
