So, in the past couple of days I've spent way too much money.
3 Mama Bear soaps (Eucalyptus, Marauder Citrus, and Unscented)
Mama Bear summertime ASB
2 SCS shave creams (shea butter & avocado and coconut)
SCS ASB
SCS "Very V" EDT
Musgo Real AS
samples* of C&S No. 88, Floris Santal, and Jean Pascal
and on the way are two strops from Tony Miller so I can finally try out the razor Joe Chandler re-scaled for me. Busy week here.
* when I say samples I should re-phrase: the No. 88 and Santal are gigantic decants I got from a guy on Basenotes. Well worth the $25 I paid for the two as these will last for a very long time. He threw in the Jean Pascal for free, though it's a very small sample.

C&E Nomad EdT

The ASB was a sample. The lady in the store was really gung ho about giving me samples, but nothing else peaked my interest.

I've had this 1958 (I think: D1 code) Super Speed Red handle for about a week. I just got a round to taking a pass at cleaning it up. Waddya think?

I might take one more swipe at it with my Dremel polishing wheel, but I'm happy with it for now. As you can see, it has suffered some plating damage under the head, but I should look so good at 49!
Thanks to all who posted on razor cleanup processes and also to you who posted on Gillette dating and identification. I would be in over my head without your help. Note the newbie status. You guys are great at helping us get started.
Opinions ???: I paid $8 for this and a old Williams shave stick metal can on Bay. At $8, I'm a happy camper. But to you more experienced folks- was this a good deal?
Looking forward to whacking off large chunks of my face with it in the morning.
Thanks,
David
Welcome David! Its nice Have fun.

I haven't smelled the Nomad scent. I was quite pleased with the sienna scent, though.

Great score would love some feednack on the brush and the soaps I have never seen those before
Just returned home from a meeting ,I did use this brush and the Joris soap-its made in England (Creighton's?) for Plission, Very nice soap similar to the Floris, very creamy and rich. No ingredients list at all. The brush was amazing- soft yet incredibly stiff, VERY dense worked up the lather in no time at all.
I am delighted with it.

So I had to see for myself if the Proraso was being cleared out of Target. They were and I walked out with:
2 bottles of Proraso ASB - $6.58 ea.
1 tube Proraso shave cream - $3.14
Also, saw they were doing a clearance on some Nivea Face wash products and picked up a tube of Double Action Face Wash for 4.48 (not bad).
No pre-post though.
OK do not hold out where did you get them:biggrin1:

Oh...I also bought some Nivea Cooling ASB at Wally World.
Super Speed A1 I think its 1955 if I looked up the code right. 100 Derby Extra blades . It was pretty dirty when I started cleaning it and it has some brass showing but for $1.25 can't complain.

Please let us know how you like it.

Hello,
I didn't know it was made by Muehle...
I remember using WS brush a long time ago but it wasn't pure badger : it was a mix boar + badger and I remember that it was a good product.
It's sold in Auchan (French supermarket) in Luxembourg.
WS is sold also in Belgium supermarkets but It's mainly made of boar...

In yesterday's mail a tube of (among other things) KMF Vanilla Earth SC arrived from Drugstore.com. I shaved with it this AM and got great lather, great scent, and a great shave. Best part of all, with my drugstore.com points, this baby was basically free. Today, I placed an order for more KMF (unscented & peaches and cream).

Inno Galeria has the pure badger WS.
I just assume it's made by Mühle for WS since it says 'made in germany' on the handle base and because I don't think WS will make these themselves...

Here is my Gillette "Lady" Razor set I purchased on "The Bay" for the opening bid of $19.99. It has a handsome Celluloid Case and a Made in Canada "Tuckaway" Style Razor with Blade Case. I missed the few Tuckaways I recently sold so I placed the opening bid on this set that had very few "views" from prospective bidders and tested a theory that won out. I will most likely try this one out next week.

Here are 2 items that I received in the mail from obscure searches on eBay.
First is a Heavy Double Ring Rocket English Gillette that replaces 2 that I sold last week on the Buy Sell Trade Forum. It is in excellent condition.
Next is a Vintage Badger Hair Brush Marked Gillette that has been throughly cleaned and then soaped up with TABAC to give it a tolerable scent.
Both are keepers for sure.
