Are there any modern day manufacturers that have a 7 day set for sale, or are there only vintage ones?

TI and Dovo both make 7 day sets I believe.

Thiers Issard and Dovo are the only companies that I know that manufacture the classic seven-day razor sets today, and even then they cost an arm and a leg. But I guess that once you get down to it, you are buying something that will last you your whole life, and the lives of any male descendants.

Vintage or antique seven-piece sets are of course, available (I saw one once at a local antique shop), but they cost a full set of limbs to get them! I personally think they're amazingly cool and although I'd love to own one, I don't know if I'd ever use it!

On that note...does anyone here OWN a seven-piece razor set (vintage or modern) and do they actually use it as it was intended? Photos would be nice...

The set at the bottom of this page (http://www.thiers-issard.co.uk/7-daysetcommissions.html) is mine and I do use it every day. Below the set is my video using it.

I have this Fritz Bracht Dovo Seven Day Set but I haven't used it because I have many other razors and I am afraid I'll wear the gold wash off it. i bought it on a whim.

Revisor makes 7 day sets also, if they don´t have one ready, they´ll make a new one.

Oh wow, that's beautiful! Is it brand new? Or vintage? It looks incredibly clean!

There vintage from the late 50's early 60's. They are in great shape but have some minor wear. Not much though.

I have this Stoll set. The seven razors do not have the day of the week marked and, although six of them were NOS, they had some staining and pitting from poor storage. They also have easily warped, low-end plastic scales. None of the scales are really entirely straight. But the cost was pretty low (~$230) and I honed them all and do use them. There are a number of these "tourist" sets I have seen that do not cost an arm and a leg and shave just fine.

Very nice daily shavers!

Yes, IMHO you are right on. These sets make for good daily shavers- Soligen made, good steel, and besides the light blade etchings, absolutely no frills. And, of course, the marginal scales. But, at about $35 a blade with a leather roll, I think these sets represent a pretty good bargain in the vintage market.

Doesn't appear a whole lot of fixing to be done. Very nice I must say. Thank you for showing one off.

I think 7 day sets are amazing! I do prefer however the type of set, 2, 3, maybe 4 straights that are cased and referred to as "Gentleman's Sets" or at least that is what my friend RayG calls them. I'm slowly but surely looking for just the right "Gentleman's Set" to add to my straight razor arsenal.

Posting pictures like that is not going to help my wallet

I wonder if it's cheaper to buy seven of the same razor. But then you still need the box for it...

I'd love to have a set, but it would be strictly for collection and showcase purposes ... I'm not going to get into straight-razor shaving until I retire and can spend all day in the shave-den if I want to.

One thing that I've always wondered about these sets is that the days of the week are always in English ... why don't we ever see a set that is labeled "Montag / Dienstag / Mittwoch" ... or ... "Lunedi / Martedi / Mercoledi ..."

I have seen 7 day sets in German, Spanish, and Swedish. Of course, I can't find any pictures ... :001_rolle:angry:

My 7-day set has the days in Italian because I ordered it that way. It's on the bottom of this page (http://www.thiers-issard.co.uk/7-daysetcommissions.html), scroll down.
