I'm not sure if it's ok for me to start this thread, but I noticed there wasn't a new one up yet, so here it goes:

My wife informs that the 2 Super Speeds (1957 & No Date Code) I bought from Mike (thanks Mike!) arrived today.

I'm looking forward to passing one of them on to my brother to get him started.

1957 - top
No Date Code - bottom

Rooney finest style 2 small. Jim at Vintage Blades was wonderful to work with. I explained to him what I was looking for and he hand selected the brush based on my preferences. I ordered it on Friday and it was delivered Monday! That's service! (It appears some of the print is missing on the reverse side of the brush but it's all there. Some type of anomaly in lighting) The pictures really don't do it justice!

It's funny, this is my second one and I don't even have the first one shave ready. I was buying the two hones and threw in another razor as it was too hard to pass up at the price.

Just bought 4 packs of old DE blades (+-1960) at flea market. Opened one pack and the blades are mint! Seems to be really sharp. 3 packs are from Germany (Solingen) and one is from France. all packs are unopened and it was only 4 Eur.

This past Saturday SWMBO and I went to Round Top, TX for twice yearly antique market/flea market thing there. Believe me, you don't know fun until you have tromped around on a cow pasture after a big rain, stepping around cow pies looking at looking at someone else's old stuff.

I did purchase two Gillette Super Speeds from 1955, one a red tip, a Gillette from 1970 that has an aluminum handle and looks like some sort of reissue of an older model and a Eversharp Shick from the late 1940's.

All in all, a fine day because $23.00 purchased 4 razors and all cleaned up to be nice and shiny. Started using the 1970's reissue one (if that is what it is) and it shaves very well once I got used to the lighter weight.

I also picked these up at a Flea market it is an Unopened retailer pack. I do not know whether to but it on eBay keep it my self hole or open it up and display the boxes on top of one of the racks I am building in the Den. I am not a blade collector and not sure if it would draw a good price on eBay to make it worth selling. If I could get a decent amount I would sell, If not I would rather just display. Any Thoughts
The boxes inside are mint the outside cello actually as pictures of the boxes and that is what the marks and small tears are on.

Took a trip to Mama Bear's. Had a cup of coffee, engaged in a bit of witty banter (or so we'd like to think  ), and walked out with:

-Mama Bear's Peppermint Aftershave Milk
-Rosemary & Mint tub
-Fresh Lime tub
-Clear Skies tub
-Rosemary & Lime tub
-Irish Tweed tub
-Hydrogen stick
-Issys Almond bath soap

Talk about a 'kid in the candy store' feeling. :001_tt1: If you think you have SSAD, don't ever stumble upon the vendors in person...you'll leave with everything

Both razors came from Ebay. The English cleaned up very nicely, though I was a little disappointed at the small amount of plating missing on the safety guard(the seller's description said the plating was only gone on the inside) but I got it for a good price and it gave an excellent shave. The soaps are my first shave soaps.

More stuff has arrived! Penhaligon's Castile EDC, Shower Gel, Castile & Opus 1870 SC and Mitchell's Wool Fat SS bought from our mall.

6 of Mama Bear's Plastic Tubs and 3 of her new wooden tubs. It might be that I've been firmly infected with SSAD because all those tubs will be filled without ordering anything new.

Jewish Law states that there is no "acquiring" without what is called a kinyan -- physically taking possession of something (if it is moveable), or living on/in it and/or "improving" it by erecting a dwelling, plowing/planting, etc. (if it is real-estate).

In my case, I purchased several items today (see below); however, I will have to wait until next week to really "acquire" them. That's OK; I already have with what to shave, until then.

I guess this means that I've passed the "Two of anything" requirement for "start[ing] a collection."

The Bergamot Shave Soap smells amazing!!!

The Rosemary & Lime I'm not so sure about. I think that it reminds me of Vicks VaporRub or some other medicinal product. I'm kind of wishing I would have ordered the Clear Skies instead, but maybe it'll grow on me.

The wooden bowl is very nice. This picture does not do it justice.

I haven't shaved with either soap or the unscented shaving cream yet, but will post a SOTD later with a report on one of them.

I just got a box from her, too - Eucalyptus, Marauder Citrus, and Unscented soaps, Her rose and peppermint summer aftershave, an alum block, and a very nice-looking sample of soap that I'm unfamiliar with.

Oh, I also picked up Lynn's DVD and a bottle of Musgo Real aftershave splash from classicshaving.

I'm waiting on a box from Saint Sue, too. and I'm about *this* close to ordering a strop from Tony Miller - I'm just waiting on the checks from all my Easter gigs.

While over at my Aunt and Uncle's for Easter, my wife was complaining about my new shaving hobby. My uncle and I started talking about shaving. It turns out that my uncle is still shaving with his Gillette Fat Boy that he bought new when he was 15! The best part is that he gave me an antique scuttle and Fuller Nylon Brush. It used to be my great uncles. The wife thinks the flowers are not very manly. So now I have shaving heirlooms from both sides of my family. The Scuttle is marked G (picture of a crown) E and Germany. I also got my Blade Sampler Pack from LetterK. Thank you,

Spent the day in the big city ( Indianapolis) with my two daughters and I just had to buy something shave related. Stopped at Nordstrom in Circle Center Mall Downtown Indy and splurged on a tub of T&H Ultimate Comfort Shaving Cream. Also got a sample of "Origins" shave cream from the store of the same name. They have a huge tub 16 ounces for $30.00 that tempted me but I went with the T&H and will try the "Origins" sample first. Anyone have any experience with the Origins product?

Here is a Heavy Double Ring Rocket that arrived today from France. It needs some detailing to make it really nice but at a whopping 2.5 ounces it prompted the offering of another thick handle Double Ring Rocket in my possession to be placed on the B&B B/S/T Forum. I'm going to enjoy this one and will test drive it tomorrow if it gets shaped up cleaned and sterilized tonight.
