Greetings to the Crew of the Badger and Blade,

After lurking for over a year and converting over to a DE razor, I would like to thank everyone for their very helpful posts. It has taken me about a year to improve my technique to a point that I am happy with my shaving with the DE razor. As soon as I switched to DE I saw improvement but I still had a ways to go (and still do ;)) Reading the posts and watching Mantics videos continued to refine my technique. I have seen good improvement even for a blade that was poor for me (USA personna). Now I have switched to Derby Extras and I do not have any of the pulling, tugging and the razor rash has improved greatly. I still have to work on my technique because I find that I still have to get used to the new razor. The latest addition/change has been starting to use Mama Bear's shaving Soap. The scent of the Bay Rum soap is what I have always imagined shaving should be like.

A work in progress,
Spattznatt

Spattznatt, sounds good,,congrats. Have you tried the LetterK's sample pack yet? Derby's are great and treat yourself to a Feather sometime.

Welcome! You cannoy go wrong with Derbys. They're always sharp enough to do the job, but never too sharp.

Welcome Spattznat. Keep refining your technique and as always, it's fun to try different razor/blade combinations. And then, there come the _ _ ADS.

Welcome, Spattznatt!

Good move to the DE, and nice have you posting! :badger:

I would agree with the Derby Extras... and, with the choice to use Mama Bear's soap, too! BTW... What razor are you using?

Hope to see you around the board!

Great I just ordered two soaps from Mama Bear and one was the Bay Rum, I hope the Gentleman's fairs as well. Good luck in your quest for the perfect shave!

Cheers,

Nate

I am using a Mekur HD. First and only DE razor. It took a while just to get used to the idea of having to deal with the angle. No pivot there! I have gotten that down now. Since I have had such an improvement with new blades, it has gotten me thinking what things might be like with a new razor. Luckly the $$$ is not there right now so I cannot get into collecting. But maybe later! ;)
