so I ordered Sandalwood Vanilla & Dragon's Blood shaving soaps from Mama Bear's a couple of weeks ago and it just came in today, so naturally I screamed like a little girl ran inside and smelled them both, then went to shave. I decided I'd start today with the Sandalwood Vanilla. I feel like I wasted $20.

And by that I mean I feel like I wasted $20 on the Proraso sensitive shaving soap, and JM Fraser Mosswood shaving cream I bought and have been using for about a month and a half (in a super lather most of the time). MAMA BEAR'S IS AWESOME! SO SO SO AWESOME!

It smells terrific, (a little disappointing after you shave and you can only sort of smell it after 5 minutes, but still great) and lathers really easily and nicely, doesn't dry out, and makes your face feel great. I'm also finding my shaves have improved significantly this past week, and combined with the new soap, I had the best shave I've ever had today. No, it wasn't BBS, my hair is so thick and coarse I'd have to use sandpaper on my face for like half an hour to end up with BBS, but it was a DFS that's for sure. And not to knock Proraso shaving soap or JM Fraser's creams, (JM's Fraser I'm told is a fantastic shaving cream for the price, and I can tell too, I mean sure I'm comparing to the 10 or so different goo's I've tried over the past 7 or 8 years, but I still like it; I've tried a couple of samples of other stuff, and JM Fraser was the best shave, til now) but Mama Bear's blows them both out of the water. I feel like maybe I should write a review on Mama Bear's after I've been using it for a few weeks...

+1 for Mama Bear soaps. Masculine Musk and Turkish Mocha are my personal favorites. I feel like a fiend when I make my orders, I always seem to pick up a dozen samples along with whatever I order. Her AS is also quite nice, though I like the summer better than the winter varieties.

Oh, I'm not pretending to hide it...my AD's are in full swing...I think I need to find sponser and go to a meeting.

It's good stuff, bummer that shipping is that much down under. I think I still like Proraso better, maybe because it's easier to find.

+1 for mama bear soap. Nice slick shave, and even leaves my skin feel moisturized...and tons of lather, I will definitely be buying more...soon!

Another fan here.

Currently in the rotation: Chypres Rose.
A great combination with the Eagle.

I just tried the Dragon's Blood today, the scent is different, but still awesome. I'm not sure which I one like better, but I feel like it's probably still the Sandalwood Vanilla, although Dragon's Blood has a really nice "Nice old man smell", like an old man in a tux, smell; think Sean Connery in a suit. Proraso has the 'nice old man smell' as I like to call it too, but it's very different compared to Dragon's Blood, Dragon's blood has a wonderful smell to it. Sandalwood Vanilla suffers from one problem... sometimes, I want to eat it when I smell it.
