So I officially really like Boar Brushes compared to a Badger. I just started using my Semogue Owners Club this week and I can't see myself going to a badger. It ex-foliates my skin a lot better and very massaging. It not even does that but makes massive amounts of lather. I tried to do another shave with my badger and I realized that I get little bumps on my face after my shave. Could be an allergy possibly...

The quality of the SOC is amazing and you can tell right out of the box. I completely recommend it to anyone. Also I'm not too gung ho on it breaking in since it works so well the first time you use it. I know I've recently switched to DE blade but I've been using the VDH boar for the longest time and know how they work. Its just that when you switch to a quality boar brush really makes a difference.

If and when the time comes around when a Semogue 2010 LE is realeased, I'm getting it!

What are your opinions? Thanks!

I haven't bought a Semogue, but I have a couple of Omega boars that are excellent. If I were to purchase a higher-end badger I would only hope it would perform as well as a boar.

Also, there are so many styles and sizes of Omega boars; I am sure you could match the performance of a Semogue with a similar-sized Omega. That is just my observation from a distance. Omega was my first brush and I still favor them.

I'm not biased b/c I myself want to try a specific Omega boar 31064 or a 48 professional. But for now i'm saving up for the other things and not in a rush.

Dewaine, I think Omega boars are very good brushes - they do, however, as a range have some different defining characteristics. So it's not a stretch to imagine a person preferring one brand over the other (Omegas strike me as softer whereas Semogues seem more scrubby). That said, I personally appreciate my custom Omega and my Semogues (but for different reasons).

Switching to a quality badger makes a difference (but see below).

As they always say: YMMV.

I agree with both of your answers. But the difference is that when you want a quality badger prices just shoot up. Then again like you said YMMV is prolly the best way which explains the situation lol.
